we have 4 dogs, 2 males 2 females, and they are urinating peeing in our living room. Btw, they sleep in our bedroom. i really love my dogs, and im planning to cage them just to prevent the foul odor inside our house, is it right?

Using a night time crate is wonderful. You can probably get them free or cheap at your local pound. Just disinfect them very well.
I didn't want to do it at the beginning, but once you have a nice large crate full of soft doggie blankets, and you take them out potty first, and get them up first in the morning to potty again, your dogs will LOVE their crates. It becomes their little beds. You can line the crates up in your room or another room. They get very secure and cozy in the crates, and the blankies keep them warm and soft. We use our crate for travel also. And when my dog is frightened she runs for the crate. A nice place to put them when the vacuum is on or a bad guy is at the door. Just make sure the crates are clean and full of blankets and no food or water in them. Accidents are very rare. You can add a toy or two and some pupperonies on occasion or a bone.

try potty training them first. take them out right after feeding time. if that goes well then:
they may be marking (and there is a difference in smell between that and pee). for marking use a belly band that goes around their parts. for females use the cutsie little panties they have. for either one of those put a feminine pad in them to absorb the pee or marking spray.
to clean up the pee/marking spray use this home remedie:
take some dishwasher detergent in a bucket, fill with hot water and use a sponge to scrub (if you have carpet, if not then just use a mop)
hope this helps.

When are they urinating in the living room? at night? when you are gone? all the time?
Are they unable to hold it through the night?
Have you considered training them to use a doggie door?
There isn't anything wrong with crating a dog for the night, as long as they have room to be comfy.

yes it is right you don't think that your dogs like to go lie down on the living room floor and smell a pissy carpet do you?dogs hate to be in their own mess that is why usually dogs poop far away from where they play.crate training is not wrong contrary to what some think.my puppies are happy loving dogs and stay in the cage whle i got to work.its fine and good luck!!!

Course they are, they are probably all marking their territory and are used to going there.. You should crate them all separately and teach them to go outside.. How come you have been letting them get away with using the livingroom as their own personal bathroom?? They are spayed/neutered right?
