Why didn't he leave a little more proof that he exists? Why would he leave us to wonder, to ponder, to doubt, to decide? What would it have hurt to leave a little more proof than a centuries-old book that contradicts itself, uses archaic language and archaic customs and always threatens and predicts disaster?
That book tells about God telling someone this, telling someone that. It would help if he would do a little more talking during these modern times. Most of us blunder on, trying to do our best and, if we think God is talking to us, we would have to get psychiatric help.
I don't understand any just or loving God who would commit any of the acts you have listed. If man did them, why didn't God stop him? If he created man, he ought to have enough power to halt evil and promote good. Why doesn't God stop these wars? Bush will never stop them, and they are supported by the so-called Christians, so why doesn't God do what Gods should do, step in and save a few lives?

"Why did he make Heaven and Earth? For what purpose?"
He lives in Heaven, we live on earth...
"Why did he make us? Was he lonely?"
So that we could enjoy eternal existence with Him...
"Why did he give us free will and then warn us not to use it?"
When did He do this? He simply warned us not to disobey... we warn children in the same way, out of concern for their well-being...
"Why did he make sex enjoyable but forbid us to enjoy it?"
That is what marriage is for...
"Why did he break the bond and trust between father and son by asking Abraham to prove he would kill his son for God."
By testing Abraham's faith He was able to see that Abraham had full trust in God, which is what God desires from us above all else, that we trust Him...
"Why did he send plagues that punished innocent and guilty alike."
God punishes sin, but spares the righteous... He allows the same rain and sunshine to fall on both...
"Was he on the side of the USA as the bombs dropped on the children of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."
doubt it...
"Does he love the children he allows to die of malnutrition in Africa?"
They return to Heaven to be with Him... famine is counted as one of the signs of tribulation in the final days...
"Do you care whether a being which can do all this is your friend or not?"
God is my friend, He helped me when no one else could...

"Why did he make Heaven and Earth? For what purpose?"
I don't know.
"Why did he make us? Was he lonely?"
I don't know.
"Why did he give us free will and then warn us not to use it?"
He didn't warn us not to use it, He warned us to use it right.
"Why did he make sex enjoyable but forbid us to enjoy it?"
He didn't, sex is for marriage, between people that love each other. He made the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" so you wouldn't marry a whore.
"Why did he break the bond and trust between father and son by asking Abraham to prove he would kill his son for God."
Because He was testing him.
"Why did he send plagues that punished innocent and guilty alike."
I think this falls under the "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem" saying. The people who were killed by the plague, while maybe not antagonizers, were certainly not doing anything else.
"Was he on the side of the USA as the bombs dropped on the children of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."
I don't know.
"Does he love the children he allows to die of malnutrition in Africa?"
Is it just me or do people always want God to fix everything for them? It's usually this too.
You people deny God with everything you are, you ridicule believers, you sin freely but you still want God to fix the world for you.
Another thing, do YOU love the children you're letting die in Africa? I'm assuming because you asked that, you give all your money to those children and keep none for yourself.
Maybe you shouldn't be complaining about God not doing anything while you don't do anything yourself.

The simple answer is God is not a practical joker and he allows everyone to live both good and bad people. God is a God of love and made sure this universe and this earth functions well enough to support the lives of over six billion people at one time. Yes God has given man free choice but he did warn them of the consequences for disobedience. And the fruit of man's disobedience is cited in a lot of your questions.
Stop pointing your finger at God and blaming him for all the atrocities of war, hunger, plagues, etc and realize that three of your own fingers are pointed at you, a mortal man. It's time to stop the blame game and let the responsibility reside within you and me to change what is happening in your own part of the world today.
Jesus Christ who is God wants to be your friend so you can live by the golden rule and share God's love with others. I would care very much about that.

God is not a practical joker but he does have a sense of humor.
He made Heaven and earth because Man was not pure enough to dwell with Him.
He made us so we could worship Him and dwell with Him, But because of sin we can't.
God did not say we couldn't use it. He gave us a free choice.
He did not forbid us to have sex He just wants us to enjoy it with the person we are supposed to spend the rest of our lives with.
He didn't break it> He was showing that He would provide for everything in life. It was also a picture of His son Jesus being given for us.
No one is completely innocent. We have all sinned. But He sent the plagues to draw them closer to Him.
I am not sure.
He loves them With undying love. Maybe He is trying to Show us that we need to do something.
Are you just looking at the "bad" God Has a reason for everything. I am a Christian And this is what I believe.

It is easy to blame God for all the terrible things in the world. Do we give him credit for the good things that happen or do we take that ourselves? As for the question. Yes, I think God has a wicked sense of humor. I worked nights when my child was born. I missed a lot of her early life. So for about 3 years, I prayed that God would find a way to let me stay home with my child and still get paid. Lo and behold, I came down with crippling rheumatoid arthritis! Now I am on disability. I get to stay home and get paid for it!

He is one practical joker. Did you hear the one where he convinced Abraham to slaughter his own son? God sent a message just in the nick of time. Fun times!

Is God a practical joker?
yeah, and I have a proof, he created you...
Is god starving the children, or is it men, did god pilot the Enola Gay and dropped the atomic bombs, or was it men... I can go on forever... if he did NOT make heaven and Earth you would not be asking this question, would you ?
LOST KEYS, I do NOT consider myself witty, so what you read into my answer is your own... I see you need to lighten up a bit... having said that I think you are extremely witty.

You are just showing you understand nothing to anything. He does as He wants, and He only knows the why. We all are too stupid (some of us even more than you) to understand His ways. And we are not to criticise Him because He is infinitely higher. Have you never been told His ways are impenetrable for us? Why do you not ask the question why a farmer sends animals which he likes and which he cares so much for to be killed and eaten instead? It is a question in the reach of your intelligence. And if you do not care for Him, it does not influence positively your being fully in His hands - just as the said animals are fully in the hands of the farmer.

THings he made enjoyable and forbid us to enjoy it, it is to show how much faith you have in God, how you will resist something for God,
If god says, and you follow, you can go to heaven
