I did not say nor imply that anyone's ideas only evolves at YA. For anyone to set up a contrast between my Q about YA Q&A and the rest of the world is setting up a bogus issue (in philosophy we call it a strawman's argument) so they can shoot it down. And it does not answer the Q about the effect your participation here has affected your ideas which I have presumed do evolve.

Neither. My mind is open to new ideas, and is stretched by minds greater than my own (like my professor's) and by new ideas. Unfortunately, most of what I see on yahoo answers is very rehashed and banal, and does nothing for me. That's why I usually stick to forums on practical knowledge. I wish there were more interesting debates on here, but I haven't found many. I should start some, but...hey, maybe I'll do that.

I have been studying and applying philosophy to all parts of my life for many years. I am always learning and finding out more than I knew before. I have actually learned a thing or two from YA, and I like to share my knowledge with others if it can help them in some way.

None of the above. My opinions depend on my surroundings. If I'm around people that have not been exposed to the real world (and by that I mean the traffic or just getting to work on time) and just live in their tight community..I try to understand their point of view. And sometimes I wish I could live in that utopia. I have to live with the day to day stress of working in a big city. I have to deal with strangers all day long. To answer your question...No...my philosophy ideas are not evolving because of YA.

Core is fixed, but part of core is to be open minded. My knowledge is definitely increasing. Doubt if few things will ever change. Staying true to part of core that believes there are few clear cut simple answers for questions you ask.
Don't you long for days when all that did not hold your positions were idiots.

Yahoo Q&A has much to offer in the way of information, but the mind (brain) is always expanding in neaural intelligence and is independent of outside effect. If you do not learn than the adage 'use it or lose it' will prevail.

I'm quite stubborn- but I try to open my mind to new ideas. It's always in my own head that I assess the world- not in others- so I don't just act on what others say.

I keep an open mind but I've found that the collected wisdom of a zillion internet idiots influences me less than one well-conceived book.

They are evolving all the time, and not just because of Q&A. The more I communicate and learn the more I realise there is more to learn.
