I was just taking pictures with my mums camera and I accidently dropped it now the screens gone all dull and You can hardly see what your taking a picture of but you can still vaguely see it but its not in colour at all, Ive heard of programmes where you can download it and if you plug it in to your computer it sorts out the pixels on your screen. Can anyone send me a link to one or help me with what i should do.
This camera is worth more than my LIFE.

Dishonesty is NEVER a good policy. Better to be in the dog house for dropping the camera rather than lying about it. It may be that the camera still works fine. If it has a real viewfinder, then the pictures can be composed the old fashioned way. You'll have to decide how big of an inconvenience having no review screen is. Tell Mom what happened, and she will decide how to go about fixing or not. Do not lie to Mom OR the repair shop!

By 'screen', I assume this is a digital camera.
Chances are the camera will still work, even if the little display is cracked or broken or has a loose wire. Windows XP will automatically (usually) detect the camera when you plug it in with a USB cable, and suggest a built in program to view the pictures with, or give you an option to select other programs if they are already installed.
You can probably download a program from the camera manufacturer's web page.
Some cameras can be repaired or exchanged from a local retailer for a flat rate of $200. They'll give you a new one, and resell the old one as refurbished.

Handover the camera to your mom.
Be honest to your mom and tell her exactly what happened, if she knows you well, she would probably understand that accidents can happen to everyone.
You probably, will not have the money, time or trustworthy shop to get it repaired anyways !
Next thing lookup up the camera warranty, or if the same is somehow void then look up an authorized repair place from the booklets or from the internet, try a google search with the manufacturer name, model number and go to the manufacturers site, and try to get the thing repaired for free from wherever you can, try to look for the nearest place to you....
Heart melter - offer your pocket money for the repairs, and better still, once she figures out where the repair is to be done, offer to get it done for her - get it done fast and hand it back for good !!
If the authorized shop demands a ransom for the repair, or if they cannot get the parts, then one would go into the details like getting spares to a shop where the repair can be done.
Acting Mr Fix It can mostly get you in a fix unless you are in that very line of work. - so just keep very close track of what wrong and happening but do not fix it yourself, if you do not want a headache at hand...

Yeah you should tell you mum but first, ring the shop where your mum brought it from tell them the screen has gone (as if you do not know what has happened), you just switched it on and then bam you can not see anything. If you are lucky and with a bit of sweet talk they may replace it for you, if they do not ask them how much a repair will be. Once you have done them to then tell your mum, way your mum will know that you have done wrong but you are trying to fix it. Try and be adiment that the camera was just laying about and you wanted to use it but when you switched it on the screen went dim. Tell your mum once you have tried this.
Hope this helps. Email me if you want some more help

pixels can be replaced if there is a softwear glitch....but if you have droped it its well and truely broken if the screen has gone dull the seal that holds the lcd liquid in place has split
you need a new screen.
sorry wish i could help. have a look on ebay for an identical camera with water damage only as the scream on that wont be broke just the electrics and so you can swap it over
but you will have to own up ...

Tell your mom that either you took it with out permission. Or if you would like to lie say "i don't know" or "it was like that the last time" or "you have a camera" or "i was looking through it and pop!! the screen went like that
your mom could take it to a special person who fixes cameras good luck :]

Bite the bullet Katt and tell her you've totalled her camera - if she has good Home Contents Insurance it will be covered - you should offer to pay her the policy excess (usually around £50) if you want to be nice.

Uh oh.
Own up. My daughter dropped and broke my Sony a couple of years ago.
I wasn't angry about the camera being broken, but I was mightily peeved that she tried to cover it up.
