GLOBAL WARMING, THATS WHAT !!!. Humans didn`t have cause it then, so why the uproar now. Are we causing some, sure, but the earth never stops evolving and changing. Around the turn of the early 1900`s they were saying global warning then. Just like the year 1000, people then thought the world was coming to the end. Same with 2000, get a grip, cause a panic over learing more something before you say " the sky is falling"

The Earth goes through natural cycles.

However, many people lead boring lives, and they get a thrill from thinking that the world is going to end soon.

Yes there always was, and probably always will be millenialism. And yes the Earths climate always has and always will change due to causes beyond our control.

An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that "Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend which began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years." J Imbrie, J Z Imbrie (1980). "Modeling the Climatic Response to Orbital Variations". Science 207 (1980/02/29): 943-953.

I'm not sure on the time scale for hitting that all important 3 deg, but i think it's 50 -100 years.

And, I'm sure you noticed above, the 'natural' cycle is in a cooling phase.

If you still wish to discredit AGW you need to come up with an explanation for why a 35% increase in the second most important greenhouse gas does not affect the global temperature. Theory predicts temperature will rise given an enhanced greenhouse effect, so how or why is it not happening?

What I find interesting is how quick the scientific community responds to discredit research contrary to global warming being caused by humans.

The sun is an example of how this works. While research is being done to determine the effects of the sun on the planet many scientist move to discredit it.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/02/070228-mars-warming_2.html

Point is the sun is vastly more responsible for the earth's temperatures than anything else. And science still needs to research it more before we go anyfurther with more evironmental regulations and so forth.

"Increased emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases still play a role, the scientists say. But climate models of global warming should be corrected to better account for changes in solar activity, according to Nicola Scafetta and Bruce West of Duke University."
http://www.livescience.com/environment/050930_sun_effect.html

The question is why do most scientist want to be right about global warming so bad? There is still so much to learn about the sun's operations but the majority of the scientific community still goes around with it's scaremongering.

The Sun warmed up, due to something called "Milankovic cycles".

How do we know it's not that now? Simple. The cycles aren't weird effects, they directly cause more solar radiation. If we could have measured solar radiation back then, we'd have seen it.

We measure the Sun today. Carefully and repeatedly. And we're not seeing any increase. In fact, a bit of a decrease.

Bottom line (note the source):

"While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."

100,000 years ago? What happened to 10,000 years ago? THAT was the last Ice Age here.
Try reading: Popular Science, August 2007, "The Future of the Environment" for an answer. You can probably get it at your local library.

Who knows? there are so many things going on these days that we are doing to our selves, Global warming could be cuz the Earth may be moving a little closer to the sun, after all it is the center of gravity in our solar system. People are saying so many things these days, that u have a hard time beliving any of it. When u no the truth, plez let me no, cuz I would like to no. Good Luck!!!

Since the Greenshirts that are gearing up to control how we live our everyday lives (once Hillary returns) can't even explain why things have cooled down since the hi temp record setting year of 1934 AD, I wouldn't look for them to respond to any questions about 100,000 BC. Other than maybe blaming Fred Flintstone for eating Bronto Burgers made from non Free Range dinosaur flesh butchered more than 250 miles from Bedrock..

It melted away because the Arctic Ocean warmed up. It will return when the Arctic Ocean cools down and it will. This is a cycle that happens whatever anyone believes about GW,

they all melted because all the sick people(besides the people that care about the earth)littered and now in less than 10 years we are all going to die because north America is going to melt and the whole Atlantic ocean is going to overflow(all the north Americans are going to drown)and then the drought will be uplifted (after we are all dead) now that's a SLAP in the face for all you people who don't care about hate earth. is that good enough for you?

Yes but it is happening at a faster rate because of human existence.
You light one candle in a room and it doesnt get too hot but light a hundred and you will see the difference.
