I am about to give you some info that will change the way you look and feel.
I gave this info to my best friend, and she went from a size 14 to an 8 in 2 1/2 months. I tried to tell her months ago-but she said it sounded too good to be true.
Here's what you do:
Eat 6 "small" meals a day-no matter what. This keeps your metabolism on "HIGH".
For breakfast-have 3 deviled, scrambled, or fried eggs and whole wheat toast (NO BREAD that says Enriched-go to the health food store)
or Have Oatmeal w/Flaxseed in it. You can have a touch of honey and REAL butter and still lose weight.
Or have fruit. Whatevr you feel like.
Just make sure it is balanced-and not big.
Have guacamole over raw spinach.
Or have a medium salad with sesame seeds, or nuts with cheese and a good dressing. It does not have to be diet.
Have poached or grilled Salmon with Olive oil and lemon juice, and a veggie
Have a chili stuffed small baked potatoe w/a little cheese.
Have a couple of Boston Lettuce leafs, put a slice cheese, meat (turkey, smoked salmon, chicken)chili sauce, or low fat cream cheese, and you have a snack. I can only eat one
Have a can of sardines. I had never tried them before until a few months bak. I love them w/the chinese chili sauce or Grey Poupon mustard. you can do ranch too.
SOUP!!!! Homemade.
STIR FRY!!!!! Meat, zucchini,celery,quash,carrots...or just buy the stir fry veggies in the frozen pkg. Add a little ginger, curry, and a 1/4 tsp of wasabe paste, soy sauce>you have a meal for 3 days. Freeze a bit in sandwich baggies. NO RICE with it.
Use your imagination on your meals. Look up KRAFT South Beach Recipes. They have some great ideas too.
*Try to keep boiled eggs around for deviled eggs, crumble eggs on your salad, or use in tuna fish.
DO NOT EAT Processed meats, like bologna, hot dogs, etc.
Get some meat and grill out, freeze what you can't eat that week, then you can go a couple weeks with out cooking...you can use some of your meats in your soups.
*START LIFTING FREE WEIGHTS. Work your upper body one day-lower the next. Altrnate and pick a rest day
I promise if you do this-in a couple weeks-your body/mind WILL BE DIFFERENT.
Have fun!

well, i always answer this question like this.. If you are on a 15 hundred calorie per day diet, do you think eating cheese fries, fried chicken and krispy kreme donuts would be the same as fresh fruits, vegetables, and baked, not fried, foods (as long as you stay within the 150 calorie mark)? LOL Sugar calories deposit right into fat cells and fat calories...well that's self explanatory! It's tricky, but the body metabolizes sugars, fats, bad carbs, etc...differently that it does the good stuff. Plus you'll have so much more energy and feel great if you stick to a healthy diet...Don't forget the water! good luck!

A calorie is a calorie. So as long as you stay within your daily allotment then you will lose weight. But! Eating the wrong foods will quickly eat up that daily intake and leave you hungry and undernourished. That usually leads to binging and that will throw off your whole effort. Try reaching for the healthy stuff more often. Things like fruit have a high water content so they can fill you up without adding a ton of empty calories...good luck.

Calories are calories. If you wanted you could have 2 banana splits for the day! HOWEVER, you won't feel well, you'll probably get constipated, and it's just not good for your body.
If you're on , say, a 1200 calorie diet, and you are dying for chocolate, you could do a couple chocolate bars at the MOST, once a week. That way you'd get your chocolate fix, and then you'd be ready to get back on the fruits and veggies. Always drink a lot of water. :)

Yes, it does. You'd be much heather getting your allotted calories from good nutritious food and you'd lose weight faster, because you'd have more energy which would give you more incentive to exercise.

yes...duh. Because it is not only the calories that you should be counting...a good way to judge something is the ratio of fat calories to regular calories. Keep the fat calories low.

you need nutrition to fuel your body, especially if you work out daily. eat healthy foods, not empty calories. you can be malnourished and get enough calories.
