My kitten is an inside/outside kitten. She follows her mom around outside alot. I was wondering what age cats start going into heat, and what age is best for them to have kittens, and how will u be able to tell when she is prego to keep her inside.

I know, your all just going to say get her fixed. I plan on it after one litter. I know homes for all her kittens. Up to 6, and If she had more i could find more. I hate when people are rude and just talk about gettin them fixed, so if thats all your going to say, dont reply. Thank you...

usually around 6mnths, altho it can be before! iv heard that if you let your cat have 1 litter of kittens before getting her spayed, they will be more loving towards you and any other cats you have!

Yes, it's very possible; that's just about the right age for a female cat to go into heat the first time. If you don't want kittens on your hands (not to mention over-taxing the system of so young a cat), it's a good time to go ahead and get her spayed.

My kittens almost always went into heat at around 6 monthis. If she starts rolling around on the floor, and wants her butt rubbed....she's in heat! If you can keep her inside, and not pregnant til she's around a year old, she'll be a better mom. FYI, spayed/neutered cats have less chance of developing cancer than "intact" ones. Good luck.
