what are each of the special forces jobs in the military and can someone give a brief discription of what each does?

You get the point. I was not making a genuine threat. There are just certain things that are better left on a need to know basis. Some examples of what they may do are: taking and/or recovering hostages; Assassinating key targets; disabling facilities, supplies and gear within hostile territory and such. Basically things that require a small yet powerful group to take action beyond the main conflict.

No one place. Wiki site has a good set of links to most of the major Special Ops units etc. One things is that the roles and capabilities and missions change all of the time......
