Actually I think just the opposite. I think of Haley as a young (like early teens), blonde, very innocent individual. I think shy and slight of stature too. I have never met anyone personally that was named Haley, but that is what pops into my mind. I think of names like Bambi, Candi, Jasmine, and Tonya as whore names...who knows why on those either (and I have a cousin named Candi who is NOT a whore at all and I still have that image!)

Haley's comet is named after English astronomer Edmond Haley. A comet is a ghostly looking object in the night sky. Comets are made of frozen lumps of gas and rock.

No. When I think of the name, I think of one of my best friends, who is funny and kind and most definitely not a whore.
Next, I think of my niece, who can cheer me up anytime with her satirical sense of humor, and sings funny songs with me. And is also definitely not a whore.
And then I think of a good friend of mine and who was like an older sister to me and, more importantly, to the previously mentioned best friend, who was the one who really needed a big sister. She is also definitely not a whore.
So no, I would have to say that the name Haley does not sound like a whore to me.

I think of Halley's comet.
For me the name has no connotations with a prostitute but (from TV) suggests someone of low intellect. However this is, as you asked for, a reflex reaction to the name!

Ive known a few haleys and all of them have been some of the nicest girls ive met and some of my closest friends. 2 out of the 3 that i do know i have regular contact with still. i think its a nice name, only its a bit common.
