The Gospel has been spread. Everyone has heard of it. Do you need to beat a dead horse? Is there some rule that says you have to keep pounding it down our throats for eternity?

Christians earn points that lead them to the gates of eternity by spreading the word. Hence, you'll continue to be hounded.

Kinda like the same points we earn here at yahoo answers.

Got Heaven?

Didn't you hear? Some of them have the power to bring that dead horse back to life! It'll never die until everyone they pass either jumps on the horse with them, or is trampled under it's feet.

In all reality, they don't put verses in context. They assume that everything that was written is a mandate for them, personally. Not all of them do this, but it is the creed of the vast majority of evangelicals to not only tell everyone they come into contact with, but do everything in their power to get them to convert. They should take a lesson from the Jews and realize that the god of Abraham had different sets of rules for those who he chose to live and teach his word, and the rest of the world. As long as people are good people, it doesn't matter whether or not they hear a single utterance of anything in either bible.

I agree with "Linnie". Not everyone has heard the message. There are people in other countries that don't know who Jesus, Moses or anyone or anything about the Bible. And if you don't like what you hear or see then, don't listen or change the channel. Because, apparently you don't go to church. God asked for a day (Sunday) of worship, one day! Look, if you don't want to worship God, then don't. Otherwise leave the those who do, be. No one is pounding anything down anyone's throat. People come to God not the other way around.

yes I guess that there is some rule that we need to keep telling everyone the Gospel.
what most don't realize is what the "Gospel" is.

the Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for your sins and that He loves you.

and the way that we should be doing this is to spread love, not condemnation.

therefore i apologize for those that have the wrong impression of what the Gospel truly is.

If you mean the Americanized Cultural Christianity that gets promoted on TV and in 98% of every church - the one that intends to accessorize an American lifestyle of self-centeredness and greed - then yea ... that dead horse needs to be put to rest.

However, if you mean the non-hypocritical Christianity that involves a significant life change, obedience to God, and love toward others ... then no. That message is not out, and it is drowned out by the message in my first paragraph.

There is comfort in believing in something, that has been arround for a long time, It is easier to rest on the traditional, than to go out on a limb and try to think up new and better spiritual ideas. When one believes in a shared belief with a lot of fellow traditionalists, it does your ego good, to push what you believe on others, rather than having to open your mind to fresh ideas. Traditionalists, alway get great preasure out of tooting their horn, about how great the value of their beliefs are.

Apparently not. Or they don't care. They just want to bug the living crap out of you about their religion. Apparently they think thats what they're told to do. Even though in a first world country, there's no way a person wouldn't know anything about Christianity. And they forget something... freedom. If we wanted to know about their childish religion, we'd ask them.

There are still people in the world that have never heard the message. Surprise. And no, we won't be pounding it down your throat for eternity. Only while we're still on earth.

aw, c'mon. I just saw in Newsweek that about 25% of everyone age 18-25 is now an atheist, so obviously we are not getting through to some people....most of us are not smug a$$oles, most of us mean well, and most of us will continue to try to bring the same happiness into your life that our faith has brought to ours...

Many people have heard the corrupt gospel of christianity. If you pay close attention to what Jesus taught you will see it does not agree with their version.
