I know that there are Christians out there, that are peaceful and are having a healthy relation in their worship of their religion. But they are being overrun by the fundementalists, whom are giving even the peaceful Christians a bad image.

As a peaceful (non-fundementalist) Christian - what do you think you can do about the fundementalist and extremist Christians?

Be a good example. Stand up for truth whenever truth is questioned or threatened.

Above all, pray for true unity in the Christian church so that one day we might all be one, as Christ prayed. Disunity and division hurts the body of Christ. We should be united in belief.

I think continuing to relay the truth and the facts is going to be the only way to positive, healthy growth. All groups have their extremist ends of the spectrum - within the groups. And some extremists do not view themselves that way and they will not accept such a label upon themselves.

You can not change the heart of man without honesty, integrity, truth, fact and patience - but most of all love is the most effective power against wrongful extremism of any kind.

I do not mean passive bliss when I say love. When I say love I mean dynamic, rugged, informed, knowledgeable, courageous love that is peacefully dominated, truth-coordinated, and beauty tempered. I mean the kind of love that has fortitude and grounding in reality and truth. The kind of love that is solid as a rock. Stable love, the kind that perseveres through anything. Love that has nothing to do with sex or physical intimacy... the kind of love we are charged with is love toward one's fellow human beings.

People who are extremists usually get that way two basic ways, they are born into it, or they have something happen to them in life that causes them to turn to it. The smaller percentage are simply emotionally and mentally ill.

The sure cure of extremism is learning to become truth co-ordinated with one's fellow human beings. That takes love that is more fatherly or motherly than brotherly or sisterly.

Of course some people still think "off with their heads" or annihalation is the only way, but I disagree.

Continue to set a positive example in the way I live my life and the way I represent God. I also do this by preaching on a weekly basis, using scripture to point out the misrepresentation being done against God by these people.

Like a mosquito bite, the best way is just to ignore it and it will soon disappear.

Same with loud-mouthed fundies.

Nobody listens to them anyway - not if you are in possession of half a brain and the ability to think and reason for yourself.

Hello,

Nothing at all unless they resort to violence or spreading hate literature etc.
