Although there are exceptions to this, generally, racists and fundamentalists share a limited education and a closed mind. They share a psychological profile which includes a need to hate others who are unlike themselves.

Adolf Hitler was brilliant and very well educated however he believed in the theory of Evolution 100%. Because of that he believed that the Germans were at the top of the evolutionary scale and the only people 100% human. He believed in survival of the fittest and that it was the German's duty to kill or enslave all other people. I think the Jewish people would say that he was racist, wouldn't you? If you read the book that Hitler wrote, Mein Kampf, you will see that everything I have said is true.

What a "delicate" question! (these days!)

Studies in science tend to move students away from faith based ideas (logically!)

Sadly, it seems to me, that many conflicts are based on religious paranoia.

I think the answer lies in a fundamentally better approach to objectively based (and interesting) education for all children.

I do not have an easy route to achieve this and fear that a combination of religious fanaticism and global warming may cause the effective death of our planet.

If true, how very sad for potential future generations!

The reason is b/c racism is based in fear. The more educated a person is on a subject the less they fear it. As far a religion goes. It is a faith base thing. You have to have blind trust and educated people always look for a practical explanation to thing. Unfortunately faith is one of those thing you have to follow blindly.

The smarter you are, the less able you are to convince yurself that a 600 year old man built an arc and sailed around with ten thousand animals on it.
lol
Actually, the smarter you are the more you understand mans need for answers to everything, even if they are made up.
And, the smarter you are the more you understand that people are different, and how people interact with each other.

UNtrue! There are many "racist" people who are very intellegent and well educated, and there are also well-educated religious types. You're generalizing, and the only thing we should "recognize" is YOUR arrogance and ignorance. Slava Rossija!

Well, I agree with the first answer. My sister and brother-in-law are very educated and my sister believes in God, is a Christian and attends church regularly. My bro-in-law, on the other hand doesn't profess anything and does not go to church. Neither of them are racists, though. My sister is slightly liberal and my bro-in-law is very liberal.

In my humble opinion, it is impossible to be intelligent and religious, other than by hypocrisy and intelligence should not be confused with warmth and goodness of character, when applied to racialism.

What proof do you have that your assumptions are true?

If you look at history, Hitler was a very well educated man.
