He was just the first of many to leave DEI. The organizational structure of DEI is in disarray. The absorbtion of Ginn has made it even worse. Employee gripes are pulled behind planes in the sky instead of being resolved internally. Look for more defections during the off season.

I thought they would come up with better sponsors for Jr, more like a Pepsi or Mountain Dew, rather than an spin off of the Mountain Dew. Many people seem to have forgotten that Dale Sr never drove for DEI himself, so Jr didn't even have that as a reason to stay with DEI. Best of luck to Jr and all of his Hendricks teammates.

Change is good. It's just too bad he couldn't have done it within his own organization. Junior has things he needs to accomplish and he wasn't getting them done at DEI. I respect his decision, but i'm still going to be a fan of DEI, and not switch over to Hendrick Motorsports. I hope Junior wins a couple races in 2008, but I hope Truex wins too. It will definately make for some interesting competition next year.

don't like Jr at all he is a bum and dei was just 2 good for him. they gave him the equipment what does he do wreck it or drive the crap out of it until it blows up. he wont be at the rainbow warriors long if he keeps that up. he couldn't win a 1 car race with a 10 lap head start this year

I think it was a wise move. He along with anyone else paying any kind of attention could see DEI falling way behind. Very glad he had the since to do it.
I don't really care about the number thing. It would be nice for him to keep the 8 but this is NA$CAR and these are the rule today. tomorrow may be different. The sponsor thing is no big deal either to me. As long as he is on the track his sponsor will do just fine.

I think it's hard for him cause his step-mom wouldn't let him be incharge with DEI, I think his step-mom needs to get a life cause she was just after Dale Sr. money! I think Jr. but i think he should had went to RCR and raced his dads #3 car.

I like new number. It matches his Busch car now.It good for him, good for DEI and good for NASCAR...Bad for Budweiser.(I've already switched to Jack Daniels)..Great for Pepsi(Mt Dew drinker 4 life)...I still haven't tried the Amp energy drink...but like most of the Jr fans I sure I will soon enough. The National Guard will also benefit from the move..Which in turn should benefit the whole country..So I guess you could say that the Dale Jr move is good for the USA!!! Go Navy! Beat Army!

A good move on his part and good for Hendrick as well. He should have in my opinion made a complete fresh start and left Eury Jr. at DEI tony and Jr. argue too much during races.

At this point, it was the best move he could had made. But, I think he'll find out that Hendrick will not give him what he wants. Jr. is not the star driver on that team.
