You may find a last years model for around $6 bills but, you'll need to really shop around. A Mathews or Bow Tech are the 2 best on the market right now and if you are new to bows or bow hunting, DON'T GET A BOW WITH ANYTHING LESS THEN A 7 1/4" BRACE HEIGHT or you'll be sorry.
That is what I was told by a PSE Pro.

Both are great bows but for the price you are looking to spend if you want this years model you may want to consider a Martin.....same quality as Mathews and Hoyt at a lower cost with a lifetime warranty.....just a thought

now both of the bow companys are very good companys.matthews has a new bow out called the drenelin and its a really good bow. and hoyt has the sorta new vectrix witch is awesome. but overall id say mattews because hoyt is about 750 to 800 dollars for a complete set up ready to go.and matthews has good quality bows for a good price

mathews...... more 3d champions than any other bow manufacturer, ive shot the hoyts and dont like them and they are a little loud for my taste when hunting. i also shot the new mathews drenalin and did not like it as much as the switchback xt which is what i am shooting this year and probablly will for several more, its a great fast quiet flat shooting bow the xt cost me 700 bare last year. mathews also has cheaper bows in their invnetory such as the fx 2 which has a msrp of 449.00 and could be set up in your price range. http://mathewsinc.com/mathews-bows-FX2-44-ViewProduct-1368-287.asp
