when the british came to invade india and half the world they were able to take the local food.(not to mention the wealth of the nations)
so obviously the rest of the commonwealth population looked up to britain as the paradise where their masters and lords and high commissioners came from.
problem solved.
they pack their belongings and walked into britain and those food back home were plentiful in great britain and its really great to be here amongst our previous masters...
life much much better.... fish and chips ok... no problem

Moving countries is all a matter of the new cultures you have to live by.The Uk has a good quality of life but our cultures are light years away from other countries in many cases. Our media can be cruel at times but it always voices its opinion when needed unsurpressed. Our eating habits are different much for the better. But our biggest asset is our caring qualities not only for the British but for others too.It is always a good norm when moving countries to stay at least 1 year seeing through the seasons,it usually looks better then.It sounds as though you are unhappy with your present surroundings which is sad.Consult with the many organisations they will help you to find your feet in this great country of ours. With limited space i cannot help you further Sorry.

There's no perfect country in the world to live in, even though you've probably heard about Switzerland or Sweden; but the UK is for sure the best country to live in, generally speaking. If you feel uncomfortable, just try other cities, the UK is full of variety... and by the way, London is not UK!
