He gave us free will. But his greatest gift is that you are never to far gone to receive the love from a merciful, forgiving, and loving God. That is the Greatest Gift, you can't compare that to anything else!

CHARITY

1 Cor. 13: 1-4, 8, 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
• • •
8 Charity never aaileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
• • •
13 And now abideth afaith, bhope, ccharity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

From the Book of Mormon this is what the prophet Moroni taught us about charity.

Moro. 7: 45-48

45 And acharity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love....

Jesus Christ is God's greatest gift to us. God was able to give his own son. Jesus was willing to give his life for the world. God loves you.
