Why is it that many of today's Christians feel the need to destroy someone else's belief? I have seen many so-called "Christians" tell other people that what they believe is wrong even though they are doing their best to live a Christ-like life, but yet those who say it is wrong don't even follow the teachings of Christ themselves. What I have seen in mainline society is that no one takes the time to understand what someone else's believes. They just assume from maybe what a neigbor said that it has to be wrong.

First I will say I am a Christian. I think that ignorance is a terrible thing..I think that we need to understand and learn from each other. I think that Christianity has a tendency to act in a way that is not Christlike.. More Christians need to buy the "What would Jesus do" bracelets I guess.

It would be difficult for someone to understand that is not a Christian. When a Christian tells another person that what they believe is wrong, it's because they have Faith, because they know in the hearts that there is a God, and God instructs us to follow the teachings of the Bible. I won't push my beliefs onto another person, because there is free will and they can believe what they like. As a Christian, I know that I am right in my beliefs, but that is not to say that I am putting others down for not believing what I believe. There is freedom of speech, free will, and freedom of religion. To each his own. As for leading a Christ like life, that is impossible for any living person, which is also written in the Bible. We were created perfect, but upon Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit, that all changed. When that changed, we were sinners. Now if someone claims to be Christ like, they are basically saying that they are flat out good, and do not sin, which is a sin itself. When Adam and Eve at the forbidden fruit, that was completely over. There is no possible way one cannot sin, even if you try not to, and even if you are a Christian. There are things that you can control, but there are sins that are also in our nature now, so nobody can be Christ like, because they are not perfect.

I agree. I have also noticed that many xians act self-righteous in one breath & say they are all sinners in the next. Another good one is when someone asks why many xians judge, rule with an iron fist, etc. their answer is, "well, those aren't true xians. What is a true xian then? I have yet to meet one. They can't agree amongst themselves on their God, so how can we expect them to understand others. Oh yeah, ever notice that no matter what an Atheist or a Muslim says regarding anything, not just religion, that they give a thumbs down? Proves to me that they will never accept anyone but their own, & even then they judge. My opinion, they are hypocrits.

i'm not a big fan of those who have nothing better to do than to attack others, who attempt to assume spiritual authority that belongs to God alone, such as declaring that someone is going to hell...but as a Christian, i make no bones about the fact that Christ said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except though Me'...a person who didn't believe that could hardly call themselves a Christian...but as to seeing inside another person's heart and soul, i'm actually glad that i cannot...it helps me to avoid the temptation to judge others

I have no problem with getting other people to think about their beliefs, and I have no problem being corrected. I do try to understand what others believe, but if I'm asked to keep an open mind, it doesn't mean I have to dump the contents of my brain in order to do so.

We are resisting the idea of a one world church which we know to be satan's idea. The truth shall set you free. Pray for the spirit of Truth on your life if you can't swallow the concept of Jesus right now. That would be wise.

Because what they believe is wrong and it is leading them to Hell. It takes more than being Christ like and believing. Jesus said, "One Must Be Born Again to be able to enter the Kingdom of God."

Would you PLEASE stop lumping us all together!

Those Believers that you are talking about are a very small minority!

Most Believers only share with others out of Christ's love for them, NOT by attempting to destroy ones belief!

I am sorry that you have to deal with that. Just remember this. Christian are no more perfect than anyone else. And Jesus asked you to follow Him, not other Christians, so keep looking up!

There's no point in understanding the beliefs of others. Most of us have difficulties enough understanding our own beliefs.

And most of us would be better served focusing on our own beliefs and our own lives than concerning ourselves with how others might believe.
