I have never heard of that. Thinking about drinking milk when I have any variation of a cold just makes me think about extra phlegm. Gross! Maybe his thought process is that it'll help coat the throat. I'd stick with hot liquids, gargling with salt water and lozenges to help soothe it.

No milk is not the remedy, it will make the mucous thicker and you will feel like you have thick stuff in your throat. Best to drink clear liquids. Water warm or cold will help, also salty water to break down the mucous. Good Luck.

what the milk does is coat the lining of your throat for temporary relief so it could help but is not a remedy its just soothing as well as ice cream and ice pops if milk was a remedy it would be sold by the doc and FDA its not a miracle drink. hope this helped

No, milk and dairy products coat the throat, increasing secretions and making you more uncomfortable. Gargle with warm salt water several times each day. Good old-fashioned water is great, juice is good, or hot tea. Hope you feel better!

At the first signs of a sore throat I buy a product called "Cold Ease" they are lozenges, make sure you eat something first , but they work. I haven't had a cold in years They will help to keep you from getting a full blown cold or at least shorten it's duration.

tea with lemon, if it's due to sinuses that your getting the sore throat, your just going to end up with more mucus, from the milk. I don't suggest milk when a person has a cold, stick with clear liquids.

No, milk is not a remedy for a sore-throat, you need to gargle with very warm (not too hot) water with salt in it, but do not swallow it.

I always thought milk irritated the throat even more. Drink a hot tea, or thera flu. That will help soothe your throat.
