but islam isn't bad to women it gives a woman pride and doesn't let her become one of those sluts that we all see in the streets..
islam makes sure that strange men don't look at the women in a dirty way

Dear, you have a lot to learn.

First of all, your spelling and grammar is horrendous.

Second, a lot of Americans who convert to Islam are black Americans in the Nation of Islam. Many do so in prison. The worldwide Islamic community does not accept the Nation of Islam, it is seen as a cult. And please don't say that I don't know what I'm talking about, because I live in an area with the highest number of Muslims in the US. So these Americans are not "real Muslims".

If you take away Nation of Islam followers, there are few Muslims left who convert. Most Muslims in America immigrated from other countries or they were otherwise born Muslim. Many women who do convert to Islam do so because they married a Muslim man.

And also, remember that every religion has followers coming and going. For every person that converts, there is one that leaves. In Islam, it's not widely publicized because there are dangers to leaving the religion, but people do leave.

Quite a few convert for marriage. Some because they are disenfranchised with the emphasis on lookism. Some because they are truely believers. They probably don't see the different facets of the religion that believe in stoning young women for violating the dress code, being out alone with a nonrelated male, or punish women for getting raped. They see the westernized version of Islam. Which is the real Islam? I don't know but the ones who are killing people for not following their beliefs and stone and beat women sure think they are doing so in the name of their religion and God.

1. Numbers of people converting to any religion is not a good argument, in fact any religion that uses it is probably suspect.
2. Archeology does not support Islam, in that Mecca was founded 200 years before your prophet and had no religious significance before then. The same is true of the rock, it was not mentioned in any religious surveys of the time or before.
3. Not all people make informed, realistic decisions, in reality very few of them do. Many women (and men) have rushed off to buy crystals, tarot cards etc. (this is more supporting point 1).
4. Islam is based on the Abrahamic god, and as creation is highly unlikely (at the best) Islam inherits that lack of proof.

Qu'ran 4:34 plainly teaches that men are superior to women.

Qu'ran 2:223 likens a woman to a field to be cultivated at will by the man.

Qu'ran 2:282 values a woman's testimony as worth only half that of a man.

Qu'ran 4:3 allows men to marry up to 4 wives, and have sex with slave girls also.

Qu'ran 4:11 orders that a son's inheritance is to be equal to that of 2 daughters.

Qu'ran 4:34 the "holy book" of muslims tells husbands to beat their disobedient wives.

And about your "Beloved prophet", the one who orders death to all infidels, including non-combatants. The same prophet who makes it alright to destroy 2 of the most beautiful buildings in the world, killing 2,974 people.

The same "beloved" prophet that makes alright to behead journalists and innocent hostages? The same one that makes it alright to widow a Sailor's wife by throwing him out a plane to die on the tarmac?

Is this the beloved prophet you are talking about?

"Bad" to women is a perceived thing. A lot of women welcome the discipline and regimentation that comes with Islam. They are not hurt, they are simply not elevated and worshiped as they are in our society. All socities are different. I have lived in ones where they cannot believe we all own cars and televisions. I have lived in a country where credit is as large a mystery to them as Martians are to us. It is a cultural thing. That is why I do not believe we can continue to impose our ideas on other countries. They don't want them or need them.

islam is never bad to women. it was in teachings before prophet muhammad. womens status has been upgraded profoundly in the teachings of islam. very good questionand source. uve done your duty as a muslim... :)
