Was it your pharmacy or your insurance that won't allow the refill? If it's insurance there isn't much you can do, if it was told to you by a pharmasist and you have taken them as prescribed you can go there and show them that you have taken them as prescribed on the bottle and they will refill for you. Vicodin is a Narcotic and is watched very carefully for abuse by the pharmacies, because they are watched very close. If you were taking 2 every 4hrs then your prescription would not last 4 days if it was 30 pills. So explain to them they may have counted your days wrong.
Not to be nosy, but if you are taking 2 every 4 hrs you might want to speak to your doc, either they aren't strong enough or you just don't respond to this medication.
You absolutely cannot transfer a narcotic prescription, and will cause yourself alot of trouble if you try. Like I said they watch things like that very closely these days.
Hope you feel better

I have had the same problem, running out to soon but because someone got into them. I have always taken them as prescribed and most of the time, I cut it in half and only take what I need.
I bought over the counter cough syrup with codine in it. This is special stuff and not all places have it. You have to ask for it (behind the counter) and sign for it. It helped.
The pharmacy ripped me off once. Yeah, we all know this story..druggie wanting extra pills. I always got 120 a month, big bottle. I got my usual refill and was short by 10.
This is the funny part! The bottle was smaller this time (why I counted them) and there was only 110. You couldn't even fit another pill in the bottle if you wanted to.
I should of called the police right then and there to make out a report. This place has a rep for doing this but nobody would listen because it sounds like BS from a druggie.
I told my Doctor and showed him the bottle. Just hope that it helped in the future when anyone tells the Doc that they have been shorted.
Good luck!

vicodin is just acetaminophen with a small amount of hydrocodone
you can take a bunch of over the counter acetaminophen right now
if you want, go to the er, thats what i used to do!!! that dr will write you a new prescription
when i had a vicodin prescription, i used to circle or pencil in "2" in the refill area for that very reason...just dont ever do more than that because it's illegal to give more than 2 refills of a narcotic
is it even legal for a pharmacy to deny you medication? i got my vicodin refilled like every other day, nobody ever said anything until i circled "3" refills
good luck!
maybe some some pot....that cures everything

You can only transfer controlled prescriptions once. Normally, its the insurance company which will refuse to pay for the refill until a certain date. It could also be an error on the side of the pharmacy when they entered days supply.

ohkay.. sounds like its only your insurance that wont refill it. you CAN pay for it yourself and thats all there is to it. Ive had this happen before. vicodin isnt expensive. Vicodin isnt very strong. I know 2 for me barely helps. but its almost impossible to get something else w/o your doc thinking your a druggie.. Believe me I know.
good luck to you. too bad there isnt an online pharmacy thats not gonna rip people off that we could use.
take it easy!! ;D

you should only take medication as instructed unless you want to risk damaging your liver. seek an over the counter medicine for pain relief. if youhad to take so many in 4 days then this is not an effective pain relief for you and you should go back to doctor and ask him/her to review the medication for something stronger. you also need to find out why your having the pain.

It's the weekend but you can call your Doctors office. You will get the answering service. Tell them you want the Doctor on call to give you a call, then explain the situation to him and I'm sure he can help you out.

I don't know if this would work but you could try going to an emergency room and see if they will give you something to hold you over until Monday.
