I am 14 years old, for a while now, everytime I eat something, it feels like I have something stuck in my throat. No matter how much I swallow or drink something it doesn't go away. I chew my food very well and all, so I don't know what's going on. Also, when I'm eating, I periodically need to drink something to wash the food down. I'm not sure if this helps, but when I was younger, I would always get a heartburn, but not anymore. I told my parents yesterday, and I'm going to the doctor's office in 1 hour. I was just wondering if any knew what it could be. Thank you.

The people who say 'why are you asking us,' your comments are unwanted. But thank you everyone else for your serious answers. I got back from the doctor a little while ago, and he said I most likely have GERD. He gave me medicine, and if it doesn't help in 3-4 weeks, he wants me to do a barium swallow.

For anyone else who has the same symptoms, the doctor said to STOP drinking Coke (or any other brown soft drinks/Mountain Dew), tomato soups, orange juice, lemonade (or any other citrus drinks and fruits), tea, coffee, chocolates, frappocinos, or any other high caffine drinks. Hopefully some of this information can help someone else.
