She hasn't wet the bed since she was three. She doesn't seem to have a bladder infection. She said she was dreaming of lakes and streams. But I am concerned she should start this now. Is it normal to start bed wetting right before puberty.

This is not an strange place for her. She has spent at least one weekend a month with me since she was 3 months old. She has her own room in my home. She liives with her father. Me mother is my sister. She says it happened a couple of times at home. We aren't making a big deal out of it. I am just concerned because like I said she hasn't once wet the bed since she was 3.

yes!....belive it or not alot of teens do!
i remember a girlfriend of mine that wet the bed only once in a blue moon until she was 16.
it happened when she was 12 then 13 then 16 was the last time!
its very normal, but on the flip side it could be a weak bladder or a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection (there is a difference)
talk to your sister/brother about it.
Do not ask her to wear disposable underwear, that would make her fell degrated especially since a girl at her age would be going through puberty! Her feelings are probably very sensitive!

This could be a short phase. When my sister was about 9-10 she wet the beds. It wasn't an every night thing, but she would wet the bed. Try getting her a mattress protector and just wait and see. If it begins to happen ever night talk to her doctor. Besides that it could just be an introduction into the confusion her body is about to face in puberty.

Sometimes a change of environment can be upsetting to a child. Also I myself have wet my bed as an adult when dreaming.
While you may have reason to be slightly concerned there is no way to approach the issue without humiliating the child, and possibly aggravating the situation.
If it is an isolated occurance let it go, but if it becomes habitual then try to find the cause, starting with a urologist.

She should be fine. Make sure she isn't nervous about anything. Does she have a lot of homework and tests? Sometimes stress build-up could be a cause of that too. Did she maybe have a big glass of water or milk before bed? That would make anyone wet themselves. If it keeps happening take her to a doctor. They will give her an exam and have her pee in a cup. Nothing to major. Good luck <33

Dont make an issue out of it. This is a a sensitive issue. Some people sleep heavily and cant wake up to go to the toilet.Ensureshe goes to to the toilet before sh e goes to bed and give her a torch. She may have an infection which needs to be ruled out.

I wouldn't give much thought or concern to one incident of bedwetting in a pre-pubescent. She was not in her regular bed in her own home, so she may have delayed going to the bathroom because she was in a less-familiar house. Maybe she drank more before bedtime than she usually does, and she wasn't used to getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. You might want to mention this to her parents, but I certainly wouldn't trouble her about it.

One incident is not a problem, but if the other two occasions have also been recent, maybe she should be checked for a UTI. It might be she's having to go more frequently in the daytime as well but is embarrassed to say (or simply hasn't realised).

it could be that she had to much to drink or was nervous sleeping in a strange bed or she was just to tired to wake up in the middle of the night to go. if your afraid that she may do it again then just buy some disposable underwear and ask her to wear them when she goes to bed just in case an accident happens again.

Talk to her about it, sometimes dreams can cause this, to much to drink before bed.
