Be ye reconciled to God, not Jesus nor Christ,
but by, and through, Jesus-->Christ--> to God.

Romans 6:11
alive unto God through Jesus-->Christ-->Alive.
Romans 6:23
gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus-->Christ-->EL

2Corinthians 5:18-20
And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us TO HIMSELF by Jesus-->Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in CHRIST, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for CHRIST, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, BE YE RECONCILED TO GOD.

When "reconciled to God", then no longer a need for any
mediation of mediator, nor for intercession of intercessor.

But there is still the matter of "holiness with sobriety",
can you make it to the end without another drink of law?

May you all make it to the end written alive unto God(Grace)

You are right, we now have access to God, directly. As we live in close relationship with with Him, the desire to sin falls. However, when we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father. Also, as we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with the other and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
Great news?

I cannot be "reconciled" to someone I believe to be fictional. I can read about him, ask questions about the stories told about him, ask questions about the beliefs of people who do believe he exists. But you could do all that to me with Harry Potter. Or, since the latest announcement, Dumbledore. I simply happen to enjoy the stories in Potter better than the ones in the Bible.

No, I don't actually believe the characters in the Harry Potter story exist. But there's no harm in acting as if they do, because you and I both know they came from the fertile imagination of a very gifted writer. So God and Jesus came from the fertile imaginations of some people a long, long time ago. Many people believe they are real, and many more believe they must act as if they are real, but not me. I separate facts from fiction to the best of my ability.
