I had a dream about tornadoes last night. I was in this big house and I was with my family and I watched two twisters, one right after the other, come through the neighborhood. They vibrated the windows a little but no harm done. What does this mean? I have a dream book and it said that tornadoes meant disaster in my own affairs, home and/or business. Are these dream books accurate? They have been accurate in the past but could it be that it was coincidence? Please tell me what you know. : ( I'm scared.

The interpretation in a dream book is the *author's opinion*, and every author has one of those, and the definition of a symbol will vary, again according to the *opinion* of the author that created the book. It depends on the context of the dream, as to what the symbol means, and one symbol can have multiple meanings, depending on the context and placement in the story line of the dream. Depending on the context and placement in the story line, I might interpret a tornado as meaning "stress",. or an "emotional storm", or "fear", or any number of other things. One thing that I would like you to note in your dream, the story line says that the storm *passed by* your home, with *no harm* done. I believe this dream relates to a situation that you and your family have gone through, that is over now, and your family has "weathered the storm" successfully, or a disaster has been averted, either because you and your family came through it ok, or because you and your family recognized a situation was brewing and took appropriate action to stop the situation from becoming a full fledged disaster. The only thing that I can offer you here, is one *opinion* what it means, based on my own experiences, plus 20 years of reading many dream books and web sites, not just one, logging my own dreams, interpreting dreams for myself and others, but still just *one* opinion out of many. Dream interpretation reveals as much about the interpreter as the dreamer. Even though many dream symbols have universally accepted interpretations, these are by no means set in stone, and the study of the language of dreams has only scratched the surface, even after thousands of years of devoted study by those who are interested in it. Even if you do read an interpretation in a book, "I saw it in a book, so it must be so" is not a good trap to fall into. Even if a symbol has a universally accepted meaning, each of us develops our own unique dream language that we must learn for ourselves. In a book, an airplane flying at a high altitude may be exploring mental territory, but to someone who took a plane to Las Vegas to get married, a plane might represent romance, to a person who lost a loved one in 9/11, a plane may be a symbol of death, but you will find neither of these meanings in a dream book, because they pertain only to an individual dreamer. Ultimately, others can give you ideas where to start, but it is really up to you to determine if a symbol fits according to the definition some author or (opinionated yahoo dream answerer) gives it, or if you need to delve deeper to find your own personal meaning........:)

Is it "truly"? Of direction it is truly. Do you imply "is it legitimate"? That's an issue of opinion. Dreams are manifestations of stuff happening within the subconscious brain, NOT "simply some thing you've gotten been considering the complete day". Any interpretation of a dream could need to take this into consideration. The interpretation maybe proper or it would no longer. It's no longer an targeted technological know-how, pricey.

Dream books are really no more than entertainment. Their accuracy is based on the fact that they are sufficiently vague enough that people can read into them what they want. Kind of like the horoscopes you see in the paper. You CAN learn something from your dreams, but through self-reflection and analysis. Not from a dream book.
