Well if he's had more than one court martial appearance (as you imply), he's not been a great serviceman. However he has at least had the justice of more than one fair trial, and he's still getting half his pension.
However, this must be very difficult for you as his son or daughter , I'm very sorry for you...it must be hard to live with.
EDIT: My hope is that you are going to be smart enough to not let this affect you (it will ruin you) , and you will go on to be a great soldier ....and do it in your dad's name.
EDIT2: No, I've never heard of medals being withdrawn - either GSM's or campaign medals and certainly not for valour. This doesnt sound right. HOWEVER - a disciplinary might very well affect his LSGCM - is this what you are talking about?
EDIT3: No, never heard of this - but then I don't know of anyone that's been through this. Have you tried writing to your Regimental Association and asking for an explanation? If - as sounds likely, he is now 'ex' he will qualify for support frm SSAFA http://www.ssafa.org.uk/ - there will def be someone there who will help with this.

The military goes soley by the UCMJ and every member of the armed forces realizes the power of.
I experienced a summary court martial while in the Navy and the punishment I received was fair. Although not as harsh as you say your "old man" got, I'm sure his charges were more severe.
So before you start accusing the military a disgrace, I'd like to hear your fathers side. If your "old man" is as pissed as you say his is why did he keep re-enlisting?
One thing you learn in the military is accountability of ones self, I do not see this in you with your reckless post on Military Justice.

it would appear to me that every answerer so far has failed to read the question properly, the question is,is it the normal run of a DCM in the armed forces(UK) for a serviceman to be stripped of his medals be they gsm, campaign,or for valour after being found guilty at a DCM regardless of the offence,so far,all answers seem to concentrate on what was the offence, who cares, that's not the question(lab doctor, take note)if you do not know the answer then try one you do instead of wasting the person who posted the questions time,i dont know the answer to this so have made no half arsed attempts to unlike some,

Well it sounds like he received a tough punishment, but apparently he is still receiving half of his pension.
I know that things can be unfair for soldiers in some cases, and had a bad experience of my own. But as in all things, the UCMJ isn't perfect, and neither are the people who sit on Courts martial proceedings.
Was you old man treated unfairly...? I dunno, that depends on what he did. From the sounds if it he did a little poo dropping of his own.
Warm regards,
Douglas

The army treats its second had squaddies like 5hit. They always have. They get young, idealistic men, and throw them on the scrapheap after they have done with them.
