At 6am gasoline and a match applied to his lawn should do the trick.

Such lousy manners that one! In our city the mowing can begin at 7:30. You may want to check out your local ordinances.
Ask "Would there be a problem if you mowed later in the morning? I am recovering from (such and such illness) and my doctor says I need my rest. Thank you for being so kind!"
If he is a total jerk have the police officer in your sector have a friendly chat with Manic Mower.
Best of luck to you!!

Don't think it will work...maybe if you have" music to sleep by" playing and/or ear plugs..
Not everyone's schedule is compatible with their neighbor's..
Hopefully they only mow once a week...could you sleep on the other side of the house on those days?
Good luck...

No offense, I don't know where you live nor do I know the general health of your neighbor, but for some people in very hot and humid areas, starting their lawn work at daybreak is the healthiest way to get it finished before the heat becomes dangerous. Give this some consideration before speaking to your neighbor.

You could put lots of Rocks in his yard the night before, that will take him a while to pick them all up.
Or you can just ask him, with that wonderful smile you have if he can wait until 8 or 8:30 to mow the lawn, just ask all he can say is no, bring over a pie or cookies then ask him.
that might work

I don't know if there is a polite way. But then, to me 7:00 a.m. isn't all that early. Maybe if you agreed to bring him coffee and a donut if he would wait until 8:00 or so. Explain that you are a late sleeper, and he would be doing you a great favor.

Just tell them you work late or whatever, and if it wouldn't be terribly inconvenient, do you think you could mow the lawn a little later than 7am? It would be most appreciated.

Mow yours at 3AM and see if he gets the hint. If not then mail him an anonymous note.

I found that army surplus land mines that are judiciously placed can cure any ardent early alarm clock rising landscaper of his habits. Don't lose the map that shows where you have placed them, however.
