I bought a new car and i took the custom stereo out of my old car and want to connect it to my new car and I was wondering if theres any easy way to connect all the colored wires without buying a manual or taking it to a stereo shop. The new car has a custom stereo in it already but no face so i want to switch them out, plus the one I already have is mine. Anyways its a big mess and I need a way or somehow to connect the wires like if theres a color code or a sequence i have to go through, Thank You

most good ones will have a diagram on the unit, black is ground, red is battery , yellow is clock and or power antenna, now if a good stereo, u will have four other colors, Front right, Rear right left front and Left Rear, all the neg side of speakers are to go with the ground its the correct way to install any stereo the + goes to the + on the speaker and set it up before you install a prefit if you will ,the balance check and front to rear so you know what wire is left right front or back , now the power wire is suppose to be hooked up so only when the key is on or on assay it comes on the other one gets constant power for the clock, simple use the right amp fuses and do not over fuse it, if you never done it take it to a shoppe that really knows how to install it most shops do it incorrectly, by the way they crimp and the location of wires and improper guage wires, seen many fires cause of this, must be installed correctly good luck

Try a few sites like Install-dr.com or The12volt.com for wiring info. The manufacturer of the stereo should have wiring diagrams for it and some offer a plug connector to simply plug into an existing one in your new car. Call the radio manufacturer tech support line.
