It depends on the type of cookie and how well you bake. Nestle's ready to scoop and bake chocolate chip cookies, if doubled when scooped, look and taste like homemade. If only single scooped you can visually see the difference. Taste wise no. However; peanut butter cookies or sugar cookies or ginger snaps and such are easily identified as homemade or not. There is no way manufacturers can duplicate those spices as we make them at home. They have one standard recipe across the country for those and boy can you tell the difference. Nestle's ready to bake chocolate chip cookies are different in that they use an entirely different recipe for this cookie than the rest of the industry. It was the mother's own home baked and other than mass producing it the recipe has not changed.

OMG, if you are going to go to the trouble, and ingest that many low-nutrient calories, you might as well go for home-made! At least you know what's in those things! I use butter, not shortening, so I can taste the difference. Also, I can add funky ingredients if I want.
It takes, what, 10 minutes to put cookie dough together? For goodness sakes, buy the salad bagged, and then take the time you saved to make some REAL cookies!

I'm so lazy when it comes to baking. As a general rule I don't bake, but sometimes the kids are so into it that daddy just has to suck it up and do it.
In those circumstances I'm a "break and bake" kinda guy.
