Losing weight won't happen overnight, it has to happen gradually. I know this can be frustrating, but it is better for your health to take off weight gradually.
It is not a good idea to skip meals, it is better to eat small healthy meals, than to skip them. Adding fruits and vegetables to your diet and drinking lowfat milk are also good dietary changes to make in order to lose weight.
If you don't exercise already, start. Try walking around the neighborhood or in the park a few times a week, this is one change that will be both beneficial for your health, and for your weight.
You may want to think about seeing a counselor, or having your doctor refer you to a good therapist. This might help you deal with your self-esteem issues surrounding your weight. Remember, your weight does not define you, and you have to allow people to get to know you as a person, rather than wonder what they think of your weight. Good people won't judge you, so don't worry about going out and hold your head high, because I'm sure you are a very wonderful person. Be patient with yourself, you can do it!
Best wishes and take care.

There are many different ways to diet.... Dieting is not the answer. You need to change your lifestyle. Try this for three weeks. : The first day eat as little as possible with out feeling weak. If you eat only a few bites when you feel a little shaky, and only a few bites. Your stomach will shrink overnight. Only do this for the first day ! ! After the first day eat early and othen. Before you feel hungry, eat very small "meals" making sure you have a bite or two of all the food groups. Not a whole piece of chicken but a quarter of a piece save the rest for the next meal. Your biggest serving in a meal should be your veggies, especially celery, after the entire digestion process celery contains to negative caloric value. That means if you eat celery you burn more calories than the celery has to give. Limiting your food intake per sitting will increase your metablism, by turning your digestive system on. Every time you turn your digestive system it will stay on for close to the same amount of time as if you ate a normal size meal. The groggy feeling if you eat a big meal is your body telling you it is having to work too hard on digesting your food, so it takes energy away from the rest of your body to finish the digestion process. Eat smaller meals more often. Eat heart healthy foods, such as bran whole grains, fruits and veggies. Stay away from fried foods, complex foods, such as potatoes, and pastas, if you are going to eat these foods do it early in the day giving your body plenty of time to process those foods while you are active, and awake. Finish your last meal of the day at least two and a half hours before bed. DO NOT EAT after your last meal, drink only milk, water, or sugarless-low calorie drinks (Crystal light) after your last meal. Right before bed drink a large glass or luke warm water, this will fill your stomach, and help move your digestive system through the night. Clearing the way for a "new start to the day" for your digestive tract. Remember, eat small and often. Good Luck ! ! Have Fun ! !

This is pet's section, I was surprised to see your question, but I guess I might as well just answer it. :-)
I recently loss 5 pound. I hope I could help you.
FIRST, tell your Mom to stop talking to you like that!
It is NEVER okay to take that from your Mom, or anyone! Never ever feel ashamed of yourself because you are chubbier than others. You can be chubby and BEAUTIFUL at the same time. You should tell you Mom to accept who you are. She's the one who's supposed to LOVE you, not JUDGE you. Don't be so shallow, can't she see that you are a girl with a good spirit. THE ONLY reason for you to loose weight is to be HEALTHY, and not just because of your appearance. If there's anyone ever telling you that you're fat, you should always ignore them, you could choose not to be friends with them also, because they could only see your outside, but not your inside.
Anyway, what I do is, eat ALL 3 meals. It is never better to skip one meal, because you would feel so hungry that you eat more on the next meal. (and your body actually absorbs more when you have food in take after a long starve.) You could even break your meals to several SMALL meals in each day. I believe you could satisfy your stomach and at the same time lose weight. Don't skip meals, you are only 14 and you need those nutritions to grow into a heathy adult.
Here are some tips,
- Don't drink sodas, or anything that's sweat. Drink water whenever you're thirsty, and lots of water helps you to flush toxins in your body as well. If you like sweats, try subsituting suger by SPLENDA, it is a NO calories sweetener (but actually it does contain some calories, but is so low that it is as well called no calories) Tell your Mom to substitute SPLENDA in her cooking.
- Try do more exercise. I know it is hard to keep up, but you should really try doing more. (Try getting your Mom to buy you a Wii, if you like games, you could burn calories while PLAYING GAMES)
- Try eating more food with FIBER, our daily intake should be 30g. So try eating more fruits and vegetables.
- NO MCDONOLDS, KFC, PIZZA, things like that. It's okay to have some luxury once a week, but DO NOT eat more than that. Fast food have lots of FATS!
- NO CHIPS
- Eat only 80% full, and eat slower. If you think you are not hungry anymore, then you should STOP.
If you are hungry and want something that would stuff your stomach right away, eat fruits, vegetables, salads (don't put too much dressings). Zuccinis, and cucumbers are a good choices, you could boil them in water, and just eat them without any dressing or flavour. They actually tastes good on their own, and LOW IN CALORIES. Or potatos. You could prepare your own mash potato by sknning first, take only one potato cut into small pieces, put them into microwave for 5-7 minutes. Add "A LITTLE" margarine (choose the ones with low saturated fatty acids, and trans fat free), and mash. It would stuff you up right away.
Well, I know it was long, but I really hope it helped. Good luck!
