Absolutely, and you go for it!
As long as he is well loved (sounds like it:), not in a poor quality of life, and well cared for.
You might be interested in a homeopathic Vet, as I am using.
My 13 year old kitty went from dying to thriving again after conventional veterinary care could offer nothing but Prednisone-NOT a good long term quality of life for her.
Dr. Judy Stolz is one I found on line. They do phone consults, and kitty's excellent response to homeopathic care is exactly like my experience with my own homeopathic care.
I've also read a book "Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats"by Kymithy (sp.?) Smith, and see spectacular results after switching her to canned, organic foods. The book actually recommends menus that you can cook for your pet, a bunch of it at once, if you want to go that far.I have added essential fatty acids, vitamin C, probiotics to her food. Why not support her nutritionally as I do myself? It makes a big difference, even in their skin, fur, & digestion.
Aside from any serious medical conditions, I believe that with great care, time, and love, longer lives are inevitable for our pets, and should be the norm rather than the exception.
Also, do you brush his teeth? It is an incredible health preserver in so many ways. There are pet toothpastes that don't foam & bother them as human toothpaste would.
Keep up the good work, and many more happy and healthy years to you all.

possible - but he is on the fringe now

need good exercise/food/love/annual check ups

and the best part - my mutts have outlived my 'purebreds'

all the best - woof!
