Recently, researchers at the University of Texas did a study asking people why they had sex. After asking over 2000 people, they were able to catogize a list of 237 common reasons. Some stand-outs:
- I had a headache, thought it would make it go away (you know, I have a headache right now....any takers?)
- Someone dared me (c'mon...someone dare me...I DARE you to!)
- I wanted to cahnge the subject (what subject is so boring that this is the only logical exit?)
- I was attraced to the person (duh!)
- The opportunity presented itself (more common answer for men...anyone surprised?)
- I was afraid my parter would have an affair if I didn't (How many people out there had an affair because their husband/wife didn't?)

So now I throw this out to the wonderful people of POF. Let's see what kind of reasons we've had for having sex (this should be good!)

The reasons differ from event to event. Mostly to feel physically close to someone. Others to let out frustration, help go to sleep, break the boredom, the reasons can go on and on. But at the top of the list the basic reason is to feel good.

As a guy, I first had sex because it felt good and my girlfriend also enjoyed in. One must be willing to except the concequences of ones action and that what she and I had to do. It's been 13yrs now and we have 2 kids but the sex is still just as good. We do if now because it makes each other feel good and pleases one another. We have moved from how it makes us feel to how it makes each other feel.

At this stage in my life it would only be for love and the feeling of closeness with another person. That common intimate bond that love making brings.. the feeling of complete togetherness.

When I was young it was for entertainment, obsession, sport, and only very rarely for love and closeness, but hey we live and we learn.

Anyone who has had sex before would not need to ask that question they would just know why people have sex.

To show affection to 1 another.
Show them how much you love them. Care for them.
And if you want to have children.
