If you like the design and it signifies something to you, I don't see why not, just remember that you will have that tattoo for a long time, so you better like everything about it before you decide to get it.

is it a tulip? i thought it was a carnation? because the flower is predominantly white it won't be a as amazing as the book cover, which is black. unless you get black done around the tattoo itself to set apart the flower from your skin. i would suggest going to an artist that does photo realism style tattoos, or portraits because that is a good tattoo idea but with the wrong artist has the potential to look VERY crappy.
good luck.

I think if you have given it a lot of thought and thought about if you could still relate to the tattoo in years from now then you should get it if you want to. And the way you've explained the tattoo sounds really cool

I routinely consider they appear well, and routinely do not. I suspect one of the folks getting them now will remorse it in 30 years. I should not have any tattoos. I had a few frame elements pierced, and now that I'm older, I simply eliminated the piercings. Its no longer really that handy with tattoos. Unfortunately, cultural elements are kinder to guys right here. There are really few instances - and without doubt no formal ones - in which guys are required to exhibit any dermis past their face and their fingers. Women will most likely have many formal instances of their lives whilst legs, shoulders and so forth shall be seen. There are going to be a few intriguing weddings in 70 years whilst folks shall be commenting at the sagging blob of color that was grandma's ankle tattoo. That stated, if I used to be going to get one, in my opinion, I'd get a black & white, certain tattoo of the Rev'd Son House on my shoulder.

If it means something to you you will appreciate it more. I had a tattoo of a dove with a heart when I miscarried. It means a lot to me now.
