The idea came from some where, so where did it come from?
How has it changed from ancient times to now and has it been fossilized by religions.

the christian god came from a mix of zoroastrianism, egyptian, roman, hellinistic, and persian belief interwoven with the hebrew ideas of YHWH and a political messiah(cyrus). basically when one culture interacts with another, they share belief systems. some get swallowed up entirely by another depending on region.

christianity is still evolving. but not as fast as the other aspects of culture. biblical teachings mandate homosexuality is wrong and that women cannot be preachers, but christians have to dismiss these laws in order to keep up with the modern world.

today's christianity resembles nothing to the concepts established by the founding ideologies that made up the original religion.

Well, during the early Old Testament times, mankind made statues and worshiped them and sacrificed their children to them. This gave power to whoever controlled the statue.

God finally got through to a few people (the most famous being Abraham) that sacrificing their kids was a bad idea, but animals could be burnt offerings as long as you ate the meat within 3 days.

I, for one, am glad there was an "evolution of ideas." If you ever get over your prejudice against God and people of faith you might see an interesting correlation between the new theories of quantum physics and some Biblical references to the strange inconsistencies concerning the passage of time.
Our "evolution of ideas" will continue by the grace of God.

It came from humans trying to understand those things of nature that they couldn't understand or control. Usually different spirits or gods controlled certain things. It has now evolved in to one big supper god that did everything.

Since with God we deal with truth, calling it merely an idea is naive.

People are weak.
They need to think that when something goes good, its because they gave money at church and preyed.
Its to make people be good, not do your neighbor, steal and stuff.
GOD IS YOUR CONSCIENCE.

It hasn't. God has always existed. He is not limited by time and space.
