When going hunting, warmth is very important. I have yet to buy an orange vest, but because of the cold, im leaning away from the thin bright orange vest, and Im thinking warmer. Can I just wear an Orange Down Vest instead this time, its my second time hunting, last time i was freezing. So Can I just buy a nice warm down vest in stead of a small orange vest, thanks.

Local laws will ten to differ from state to state but pretty much all of them require a certain amount of Blaze Orange to be worn when hunting for safety reasons. As far as getting cold, well that's always a problem you face when hunting during the colder months so I prefer to dress in layers. For example you could just use your orange down vest and then but your Blaze orange one on over top of it, I usually wear a thermal shirt under my normal shirt, which is usually something Long sleeved and flannel and then a medium weight Blaze orange vest from my local mega marts hunting department. That way if I get too hot I can just take on my over shirt and prefer flannel or wool both because it is warm dry or wet and dose not create alot of noise when I am moving through the terrain and tent to stay away from the cheap plastic Blaze orange vest for that reason and the fact that they tear so easily. Oh an I usually wear I blazer orange hat as well for the simple fact that my head is usually more exposed more often then my body is and I don't want some trigger happy a** shooting me in the head. Happy Hunting.

As long as it meets the legal requirement in your state for proper color, it will be fine. They don't care what the vest is made of just so long as it has the required number of square inches of international orange (or whatever color your state specifies). Another obvious choice, if you already have some warm clothing, is to just buy a cheap thin orange vest that is big enough to fit over your warm clothing. Those vests come in all sizes so just buy a good old big 'un.

I ALWAYS wear a blaze orange knit hat, heads are the part of the body most often confused with game and not a very nice place to be shot.

I wear my nice warm military coat with a blaze orange vest over the coat.

Wow.... i could not think of that. the 1st element i might think of seeing something like that must be "Pimps are Us." Sorry, yet ..... Why do not you bypass with something greater sedate and maybe think of roughly orange and brown tie, vest, and/or cummerbund? you ought to then journey the vegetation and even perhaps get severe-high quality brown dresses to your attendants, yet i does not bypass so loopy as to get an orange tux!
