My first handgun was an el cheapo .22 LR/WMR single-action revolver. In three years, I must have put 30,000 or more rounds through that crummy old six-gun. I still have it, though I've not shot it in a number of years.

A favorite is hard to pick. My Always gun is an S&W M-640, .357 Magnum. It is my Always Gun because it is highly concealable, very powerful, and acceptably accurate. It really isn't my favorite.

For my favorite handgun, it is a toss-up between my old S&W M-686, I carried in on duty a couple of years, and as a CCW piece for many more. It is powerful, very accurate, and very packable. Even more packable is my other contender for favorite handgun, a 4.75" barreled Uberti-made SAA-copy in .44 S&W SPL. It has ridden many a mile under my shirt or in a fannypack holster.

Favorite rifle? Easy, my Browning BLR in .358 Win, it is easily the most accurate rifle I've ever owned, and one of the most accurate I've ever shot.

Favorite Shotgun? My old Fox Model B 12 gauge side-by-side double.

First was an H & R 9 shot .22lr DA chrome revolver. That was my Grandad's and he received it as a gift from a man they let stay at their house for a couple of months while he got back on his feet. That was the first handgun I ever shot.

My Favorite has to be the Glock 19 out of the guns I own. Reliability, consistency, accuracy, capacity, durability, simplicity, all make for a wonderful gun.

My favorite I do not own, yet, is the Glock 20 10mm with the 6" longlisde conversion with green frame.

My first pisto was a Colt Woodsman .22 rimfire. It was a gift from my grandfather. Now over 50 years later, I have many handguns and there is a favorite for each purpose. My favorite handgun for concealed carry is my Kimber .45 ACP. For plinking, my favorite is my Ruger Mark II with a bull barrel. It's accurate and cheap to shoot. For serious target centerfire shooting my favorite is my S&W .357 mag. loaded with .38 Special. My favorite hunting handgun is my Taurus Raging Bull chambered for .454 Casul. When I am shooting in a bowling pin match, I like either my Kimber .45 ACP, my Taurus .357 mag with the 6 inch barrel or my S & W Model 29 in .44 mag. Since I own only one muzzleloading pistol it, by default, is my favorite blackpowder pistol. If I were going to pick one overall favorite pistol, regardless of its usefulness in any specific application, I would have to pick my Desert Eagle. Its too big to be a cary pistol, is not the best choice for a hunting handgun, is too hard on bowling pins to use it for that because it tears them up so badly and the club has to replace too many for them to like for me to use it. But just on the basis of how nice it looks and how much fun it is to shoot (albeit expensive), I'd pick it as my overall favorite.

My first handgun was a browning buckmark .22 semi-automatic. I still own it too. It is very well built, it shoots almost every kind of ammo, and it is very accurate. As for my favorite though, I'd say the taurus snub nose .38 special because it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and it's light as a feather.

For all practical purposes, it's been the Sig PRO 220 with tritium sights. It's tougher than anything, dependable, and still my favorite.

Now that I've moved to the communist state of New York, I'm waiting on getting my pistol permit and getting my handguns back, but I might change my mind on my favorite, then.

The Colt Trooper MK III .357 revolver I purchased in 1971. My favorite is the Glock model 22 in .40 S&W caliber, followed closely by the Colt .45 semi-auto.
