Yes. I know a lady and her boyfriend who both have it. They don't really have good hygeine either. It doesn't bother me that they are HIV positive, but they never wash their hands and I've seen them with open sores, at public gatherings. I've been tested and am negative, but I try to empathize with them and treat them like everyone else. I feel it's irresponsible for women with HIV to decide to have children, however when they know that they may not live to raise it or risk infecting them.

Not currently. Every friend I ever had who'd been diagnosed with HIV is now dead. There were about a dozen or so - and I miss every one of them.
I have been tested, yes. I used to work for a health department where we did free testing and counseling. There are so many people who have HIV but don't know it because they either refuse to be tested out of fear or because they feel healthy and think they are immune, somehow. This is a shame, because people who are diagnosed early and receive proper treatment can live very long, healthy lives.
Nearly all of my friends that died were diagnosed very late - after becoming symptomatic of AIDS. Earlier diagnosis and treatment might have kept some of them around longer.

No I don't know anyone with HIV. I have studied it alot and the effects it has on interpersonal relationships & if you ask me, you can't always search friends or acquaintances with HIV, but there's some great films on the subject, that for me, really draw in alot of emotion and understanding. "Philidelphia" and I think the other one was "The Sum of Us". Give them a try!

I did but he's dead now, he died of Kerzsky's ( probably misspelled) sarcoma an aids related cancer. It was his own fault though, his family , for years, warned him about the danger of his being a member of a certain controversial sexual orientation that I am not at liberty to name because they other members of said orientation will flag my post as hate speech.
