The brown mute wire is used with a separate hands-free kit for a wireless phone. It would automatically mute the radio when you place or receive a call. If you're not using the hands-free kit you don't need to do anything with this wire.

The illumination wire is meant to be connected to a wire that has voltage when you vehicle's lights are on. When the unit senses voltage through this wire, it will dim the display so it's not too bright for night time driving. There should be a wire in the stock radio plug that you can connect this to. If you don't connect it, it will not affect the other radio functions.

The blue/white wire is more commonly called the "remote" wire. If you install a separate amplifier, you will connect this wire to the amplifier's remote terminal so that it turns on and off when you turn the head unit on and off.

The yellow wire is the constant power input for the head unit. If there's no voltage on this wire, the head unit won't work.
