Wasn't sure if the rough and tough look is appealing or maybe just a lil too scruffy

it depends if it compliments your face or not, some guys look good with it some dont, also depends on your style if youre some artist or something then you need to have it to show you dont care about anything, but if youre more professional and want to get ladies like that, then you should be clean shaven, hope this helps!

different things appeal to different girls, like i only like a little facial hair on a guy, but my friend loves the ruged look, with the 5 o'clock shadow

Depends, it looks scraggly on most dudes. you have to have a certain look to pull it off, strong jawline, sharp eyes, one chin, the 90 lb redneck w/ the get r done trucker hat looks bad w/ scruff, as does the 300 lb d&d nerd. It also looks funny on effimanate, metro sexual guys (although i know some gay dudes that look great w/ it), etc.

I think it's sexy. Makes me feel like he is being real with himself and I like a guy that feels comfortable in his own skin. A hard working man is not always cleaned shaved. Such a turn on.

my husband looks HOT with a five o clock shadow.
dark haired men look pretty good with them.
gray haired men do not.
blonde men look horrible and scruffy with them. (unless their beards are very dark)

I personally LOVE a chin strap. Yes a five o clock shadow is SEXY BUT!!!!! keep it 5 o clock or less

i like scruffy-ness!
but some of it is bad, like "you need to shave."
like if i get close enough it will eat me.
some of it is good.
