I just adopted her and they said she was spayed but I dont know how to tell! She has no scars that are visable on her belly. I dont have the first clue on what to look for! Although she is VERY interested in boy dogs!

In some animals, the spay scar can actually be felt. It's harder than the surrounding area and is often raised.

There will be a scar line on her belly right in the middle between her nipple area. It will be a few inches long--and runs in the direction of her head to tail. It is a very thin scar and can be very hard to see if the dog have been spayed a long time ago. The coloration of the scar will be just slightly different than the natural color of her belly skin, and to see it you must look very close, even using a magnifying glass if it is possible to keep the dog still long enough to do that. Spayed female dogs often tend to be chunkier as they age because they produce less hormones.

How old is she? If she's less than 2 years old, if you shave her belly, you may possibly see a scar. Its really hard to tell otherwise, unless she goes into heat. You should probably keep her away from the boy dogs for a while, just to be safe. If she isn't spayed, contact the shelter you adopted her from and they should cover her spay.

You usually won't see a scar. She should have very small nipples and a small vulva. Intact females have swollen nipples and vulva, which will get even larger when they are in heat. If she doesn't go into heat in the next 8 months, she's definitely spayed. But usually a visual is enough to tell.

There will be a tiny scar on her tummy which you could easily miss. Just give it time if she does not have a season in the next six months she is spayed. It is easier to tell with a male

The only way to know for sure is by taking the dog to the vet. The vet can check by either feeling for the uterine horns, or doing an ultrasound. A scar is not a sure fire way of telling..it could be from a c-section or some other surgery...

look for a long white mark on her stomach
it might not be too noticeable if she was spayed awhile ago
if u cant tell shaver her on her belly alittle bit

the best way however is to see in the next 6 months or so if she goes into heat

Where did you get her? Can they give you proof that it was done? Ask them what vet the dog went to. That should be a quick fix for you. Good luck!

There is no way to tell, depending how old she is there may or may not be a scar.
A vet may be able to tell some way.
