I want to inconspicuously disable the car so she can't drive it (for punishment), but I want her to think the car is broken. Is there a fuse or wire I can pull that her Boyfriend can't recognize by just popping the hood?

There is an inertia switch that when triggered will not allow the fuel pump to run therfore the car will not start. It is put ther by the factory so in case of an accident the fuel pump will not keep running .I beleive that car has it behind the pass. side kick panel. Just tap it firmly with a screw driver and that will set it off. No need to disconnect anything. To reset it you just push the button on the top and it will start again.

Well you can always make a duplicate of her key, and switch it out on the ring with the original. Since the duplicate key wont have the PATS security chip in it, the car will start but immediately shut off due to the security system in the car. Without the factory key, or a duplicate key with the PATS chip in it, the car wont stay running long enough to drive it. No teenage mechanic should be able to figure it out, and it doesnt require altering the car in any way. Just make sure the two key look identical, and be sure NOT to lose the original. Those keys are expensive to replace.

You can pull some of the fuses from the car or like some one else said, you can disconnect the battery. You can also just, take the battery out. Or if you really want to make it inconspicuous and you have a good knowledge of cars, you can remove the spark plugs. You're not going anywhere without spark plugs.

bdiym1 is right, BUT! It could be under the dash on the passenger side or in the trunk on one of the sides behind the matting. If you cant find it refure to the owners manual, it's called a fuel cut off switch. Just look for a small black box 1"x1"x1/2" with a little red button on top of it. All you gotta do is smack it hard enough to make the red button pop up. It shuts the fuel pump off till you push the button back in.

Depending on how much technical knowledge her boyfriend has, disconnecting the negative end of the battery is probably enough for 90% of teenage boys, even the ones that act macho and pretend like they know about cars.

The better question is, what kind of punishment is it if she doesn't even know she's being punished?

IMO the best way to disable her car is to take the keys!

Well parenting is ur job not mine so for doing that most likely what u can do is look at the owners manual find one of the relays that are under the hood in the fuse box and remember where u took it from and take it out make sure it has something 2 do with the ignition and take it out since cars dont have all the gaps in the fuse boxes filled he wont be able 2 find out wat is missing and therefore not fixing it.

It would depend on how much her boyfriend knows about cars. You could disconect the primary wires from the coil packs or maybe from the TPS (throttle position sensor). Of course this won't do any good if he takes auto shop.

I can't believe you're actually thinking about doing this. You're punishing her without letting her know she's being punished. How is that going to teach her anything?Sorry, but this is not a very good punishment technique. Here's a thought. Take the keys.

Hmmm...I don't buy it. IF you are a father.....and I doubt it, you are a rather poor one. You can't even tell your children "No", you have to sneak around and hide things...very mature. But my guess is your some kid who wants to disable some girl's car so you can look like some big shot by fixing it...yep...thats about what I peg you as.
