that the users in the R&S section whom I would most like to send an email to so I can clarify something or ask a question, don't allow emails? Are people really only brave enough to state their beliefs so long as they can't be questioned?

I should add that I don't want to send "you are going to hell" emails. I simply think it would be nice to correct someone when they say something like, "gumby's religion believes in only eating gouda cheese" or whatever. you get my point. Or I'd like to ask a question to clarify their point, just so I can understand.
And I don't like to be confrontational so I don't want to do it where everyone will see. What if it hurts somebody's feelings?
Ok, I'll quit being a wienie.

And yet it's the nazi's who usually block their emails. Whoops, there I go dropping my non confrontational stance.

In spite of my spam blocker and other protections...you should see my email in-box on a daily basis. I never give out my email address except to close and trusted relatives and friends, yet my box is deluged with a bunch of crap on a daily basis. Why would anyone want more? Not that you, necessarily, would send crap...but I hope you get the point. Its just most people's general rule.

I allow emails, I just block anyone who I think might be annoying. Some people have probably been attacked with hate mail before, and don't want to risk it again.
Edit: You're not being a wienie. But I think some people have gotten tired of those "go to hell" messages. Thanks for not being one of the people who sends them; I've gotten a few myself...

Just thought I'd add that as much as people want it to be, this site is not quite the same as a forum. The site administrators apparantly want to allow people to post their opinions without being flamed. That's probably a good thing.

Yeah. Think that until a nazi sends you 999 emails.
Edit: Until you've walked in another's shoes, don't assume they fit. Me, my email comes and goes. If yahoo had functional email blocking, it'd be on all the time.

I think I allow emails, but not IM because sometimes I get flirts and I am married, and dont have time to chat, nor want flirts. I love to get emails thought, that way if it is rude or nasty, I just ignore, or spam them.

You should see some of the emails we get. It's scary to think of the type of people out there who would send them.

I allow emails.
Perhaps those that do not allow them have been bombarded by too many abusive emails and just decided that it's not worth it.

That's why this forum exists. Most folks like to state their opinions and remain anonymous to protect themselves from abuse and trust me there are abusive folks out there. PEACE!

I've noticed the same thing.... I just figure those who know me, already know what I think/believe, and those who don't... their opinion doesn't matter.... at least to me.
It's the ignorant blabber-mouths that bug me- they don't know what they're talking about, but they sure talk about it!

You should see the floods when one angry fundie sends out a "spam this demon" alert.
Someone can post to me here, or not. I don't care.
