One question you may ask yourself. If you have sex and would get pregnant, then you broke up, what will happen to the baby. Sometimes sex is all someone wants and they are off to their next exploration. You are less likely to get a commitment and it is easy to say goodbye. What I personally would do is against bible teachings that say don't have sex out of marriage. I don't think you are going to hell for having sex with someone out of marriage. Adam and Eve did not have a marriage license. But you may make your life more complicated than you want it to be. That is the chance you take. This is a very controversial subject. You will have to decide if you want to take the risk.

Check out these statistics:
The vast majority (95 percent) of Americans have had premarital sex, says a study in the current issue of the journal Public Health Reports.
Researchers studied interviews with more than 38,000 people that were conducted in 1982, 1988, 1995 and 2002 for the U.S. National Survey of Family Growth. The analysis revealed that 99 percent of the respondents had had sex by age 44, and 95 percent had had premarital sex, the Associated Press reported.
Even among Americans who abstained from sex until at least age 20, about 80 percent had had premarital sex by age 44.
"This is reality-check research," study author Lawrence Finer, research director at the Guttmacher Institute in New York City, told the AP. "Premarital sex is normal behavior for the vast majority of Americans, and has been for decades."

After marriage ceremony is over the priest declares couple, as man and wife. The rights a couple is bestowed upon , become effective only on declaration.
Now it is clear that sex is allowed only after marriage. If allowed before marriage, even with mutual consent, then it is allowable to all man with all women. does it sound ok? Certainly not. So "mutual consent","falling in love" etc.. are all excuses which can be manipulated, hence they are not allowed in a sacred relationship of marriage.

Young People Ask . . .
What’s Wrong With Premarital Sex?
http://watchtower.org/e/20040722a/article_01.htm
What Fornication Includes
An authoritative answer to these questions can come only from our Creator—Jehovah God. And in his Word he tells us to “flee from fornication.” (1 Corinthians 6:18) Just what does that mean? The Greek word translated “fornication” is not restricted to sexual intercourse but includes a variety of lewd acts. So if two unmarried people engage in oral sex or in fondling each others’ reproductive organs, they are guilty of fornication.
But could they still be considered virgins—that is, in God’s eyes? In the Bible the word “virgin” is used as a symbol of moral purity. (2 Corinthians 11:2-6) But it is also used in a physical sense. The Bible tells of a young woman named Rebekah. It says that she was “a virgin, and no man had had sexual intercourse with her.” (Genesis 24:16) Interestingly, in the original Hebrew, the word for “intercourse” evidently included other acts besides normal man/woman intercourse. (Genesis 19:5) So, according to the Bible, if a youth engaged in any form of fornication, he or she could hardly be considered a virgin.
The Bible exhorts Christians to flee not only from fornication itself but also from all forms of unclean conduct that could lead to it.# (Colossians 3:5) Others may ridicule you for taking such a stand. “‘You don’t know what you’re missing!’ is what I heard all through high school,” says a Christian youth named Kelly. However, premarital sex is nothing more than the “temporary enjoyment of sin.” (Hebrews 11:25) It can cause lasting physical, emotional, and spiritual harm.
Serious Threats
The Bible tells us that King Solomon once observed a young man being seduced into premarital sex. Solomon compared the young man to “a bull that comes even to the slaughter.” A bull that is to be butchered seems to have no idea what is about to happen to it. Young ones who engage in premarital sex often behave similarly—they seem to show little or no awareness that there are serious consequences to their actions! Solomon said of that young man: “He has not known that it involves his very soul.” (Proverbs 7:22, 23) Yes, your “soul”—your life—is at stake.
For example, each year millions of youths contract a sexually transmitted disease (STD). “When I found out I had herpes, I wanted to run away,” says Lydia. She laments, “It is a painful disease that will never go away.” Over half of all new HIV infections worldwide (6,000 a day) occur among those who are between 15 and 24 years of age.

There is a difference between love and sex, love is an emotion and sex is a physical act, You may not be able to control your emotions, but you most definitely can control your physical acts. If people couldn't control physical acts, rape would become the most frequent crime in the world. However to answer your question from a biblical standpoint, it is called fornication and it is a sin. From a personal standpoint I feel people should know each other very well and live together before committing themselves to marriage, and of coarse if you are living together with the intention of getting married there really isn't anything wrong with it. ;-)

I'll tell you- premarital sex is never really okay with Catholicism, not sure about Christianity- but honestly- the population is divided pretty unevenly on these things....
I'm not sure many people are THAT devout to their religions. I'm not sure I know a single individual that waited for marriage- that doesnt mean you should or shouldnt- I'm just telling you what the majority of experiences and people I know have taught me....

I Corinthians 7 says this: "...It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." "I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I (as a single person). But if they cannot contain, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn (lust)." Now that we know what the Bible says, I get to add my two pennies. Why would you WANT to have sex before marriage? I've heard it said that you have to try a lot of shoes to find the right fit. Well, sex isn't shoes. Once you give it away, you can't get it back. Why is it so important to save it for marriage? 'Cause it's the one gift you can give to each other on your wedding night, that doesn't cost anything, but is worth more than anything you could ever afford to give to each other. In essence, you're saying that you valued yourself enough to wait for your wedding night, in order to give your spouse the most special gift in the world. Bdesides, every time you have sex before marriage, you're inviting all of those relationships into your marriage bed. One last thing...you'll never have to worry about passing on a disease if you've never been with anyone else. There are just too many good reasons not to give in to peer pressure, and that tired old "I think I'm in love with you" phrase, said to make you believe the person is sincere in their feelings for you in order to get what they want. Then, you're left with the reputation, and an empty promise. Life's too short to give up your most precious gift just because "he makes me feel good". Feelings come and go. But, your gift is a one time thing. <*)))><

Sex is NEVER ok before marriage! It is a very serious sin. If you truly love someone you will marry them and wait to have sex until you do!

If you are in love, get married,,then have sex. Fornication(sex without marriage) is a sin, I don't care how much in love you are..Don't put yourself in a situation where you are alone with this person and in danger of losing control.

No, it is not. You need to learn the definition of love and lust because they aren't the same thing.
Galatians 5:19
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
Ephesians 5:3
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
Better to keep yourself pure and share those special moments with your wife when the time comes. But first you have to learn the difference between love and lust so when you marry, you will marry the one you love and want to spend the rest of your life with :)
