Due to my extreme shyness, I have managed to make it into my mid-30s and still remain a Virgin. Am I dead in the water? Is lack of experience a major negative for an adult male?

I swear, no B.S. here. I put the 40 y/o Avtar because I am to embarrassed to add my own pic and I am truthfully only three years away at 37. So why wouldn't I use that pic? Heck, I am 9/10ths the way there already.

It doesn't matter what society thinks. I don't understand why people these days think having a lot of sex is a good thing, because I want my future husband to be a virgin and I know a lot of women think the same way as me.
But I have to say, at 30 you should be less shy and more open though. Just let yourself go and make conversation with women, there's nothing to be scared of.

There is no time limit for virginity. Be comfortable with life and what you want. When the time is right you will know. Disregard the pressure of society to make you do something because of your age. Experience comes as it comes and there is no time line on any of it. Try enjoying life and what it has to offer with both male and female people and do not dwell on the virgin thing too much. The time that you stop worrying about it and start having fun you will be situated with the opportunity before you know what is happening. Relax as there is no deadline man so don't miss life waiting for what society tells you is not right. There is no too old for anything as experience comes for everyone when they are ready and you are no exception. It is not a negative, it is just who you are. Continue that tradition and be who you are as we are all different in many ways and do not be ashamed or feel inadequate about who you are as you are unique as in some aspect we all are. How old is too old for one to sky dive? Some never do and I will probably be one but my point is that your experiences in life come at your pace not at the direction of what others think or say but as you reach them. Good luck and good for you. Just be yourself and do not worry about small things like this, life is too short.

Oh great, I'm the first to answer the question. The "right" answer to give to you would be: you should only lose your virginity when you find that special person who you want to spend the rest of your life with.... etc.... yadda yadda yadda. The truth, in my eyes: I'd say around 30-35 is plenty old enough to wait. I think some girls would appreciate the fact that she is your first but most women would prefer you to have SOME experience. Don't worry about it. As long as you take your time and REALLY LISTEN to what she wants you will be just fine. I think the longer you wait the more pressure you are putting on yourself. Find someone that you are into and give it a try. Your future wife will appreciate all of the practice you've had. Have fun and enjoy yourself. Sex is fun and you are missing a very important part of your life. It's also a very big stress reliever.

Then go to some dating website and leave your profile as a 37- year old virgin who is looking to lose his virginity. It will be anonymously, so you don't have to get embarrassed, if you did it in person and a girl laughed at you. Are you sure that you are not gay? It is just strange to hear that you never had a girlfriend until now. Get it over and then you can wait for your special girl because if you wait for your special girl, you might even die being virgin.
Believe me, it will be easier to get over your shyness as soon as you dated and slept with one girl. And whoever says that they would like to marry a virgin guy, you must be either very young or naive. A girl who says that must be a virgin too because she has no idea about guys and sex. Do you really want a guy to finish every single time, he touches your boob? I mean come on, think realistically. They would be so stiff and shaking out of nerviousness in bed that it would takes times and times of hard trying until a guy will be able to perform of something close to sex. Sorry to say that but the built sexual frustration over these years will spoil all the sexual experience for a woman, and whoever decides to deal with a 40 year virgin. It will take such a guy forever to learn and become any good in bed. A woman would be a contant teacher. Such a guy probably doesn't even know how to kiss well besides any other intimate things. However, I am pretty sure that there are women out there whose fantasies are to have sex with a virgin boy, and you are a perfect case. Since you are over 21, there is no legal issues.
A major negative impact is that you have no experience with women in bed and outside bed.

There is no such thing as "too old." Some rare people die having never had a sexual experience. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. The world will procreate without you. As for what anyone thinks, if I were you, I would fail to mention it to them if it ever came up. If you ever ARE in bed with a woman, I'm sure it will be undetectable, since many men are pure slobs in bed (so I've heard) and don't really BENEFIT from any sexual experience they've gained. Just loosen up.

That is a good one. Are you serious, your either dead in the water. Or you better GET DOWN ON IT!!!! I don't mean to cruel but when I was in my twenties you don't want to know how many times in one hour. But it's not to late my wife and I set my person record in 24 hours when I was 41 (true), been married 11 years now and going strong.
I used to know a guy that used a line similar to that in bars, once in a while it worked for him.
I not trying to put you down, I am urging you to put yourself out there take risks. When your trying to do what your trying to do it is scary, anything having to with your heart is scary, I understand. You need to take the risk and keep taking it. You may have some heart ache along the way, but that comes with the territory. Dude, put yourself out there find a woman court her and give it a chance,

There isn't a set age. It's just what the person is comfortable with. Remember, just because it's not the norm. doesn't mean it's wrong. Most guys I know don't have that kind of self-control. If you're still breathing your not dead=)

well there is never too old unless u have health issues...u obviously havnt found the right woman to share a special moment with..its not a bad thing...think of all the other people who wish they could be virgins and regret loosing there virginity...so dont go and be stupid and stick it in everything that walks....its still worth waiting...it just makes it more wonderfull on your first time

no age is too old, but try to find a way to get over the shyness so you can find a girl and be happy. and it's not something to be ashamed of so don't be afraid when the moment comes to tell the girl
