G'day Agent319,

Thank you for your question.

I would contact the Internet Crime Complaint Centre which is a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center. The United States Department of Justice also has a page about who to contact about various crimes.

Other countries have different contact points.

Regards

Whoa there. You had better be able to prove criminal activity. You are talking about infringing on someones or some group's right to free speech.
Secondarily, the web, being a world community, depending where that site is home based , laws may not apply.
The advice given most often in cases like this is to block the site. You can contact the FBI Internet Crimes Department for help. Good luck.

It depends. If this is your own site, you simply need to contact your host service to cancel it. If it is someone else's site that you have a problem with, it might be a little more difficult. Sometimes if there is a negative thing someone said about you on a website, but the website is not their own, you can go to the administrator or webmaster of the site (usually his email address is at the very bottom of the site) and tell them that someone is harassing you on their site, and they will usually deal with that person themselves. To make your case, you need to save the offensive messages/emails from the site and pass them on to the administrators so they know who it is that is causing you grief.

If, for instance, the site is maintained specifically by the person who is saying bad things about you, then it may be a more difficult problem to solve. You can try contacting police in your area who specialize in the internet and may have technology that can help track down the webmaster, or, if things are really bad and you feel this person is stalking you through your computer, you can try beefing up your computer security by getting a stronger firewall or re-formatting your hard drive (I've heard this can erase most security problems, but you can research it further). I think looking for a "cyber cop," ie a policeman well versed in internet knowledge, might be your best bet.

It depends on what the website is. If it is child pornography then go to the FBI website. There is a form on their site that you can fill out to report it,. If it is other crimes then contact your local police. If it is just a website that you find offensive then I would suggest that you not visit it. What one finds in bad taste others actually like. So if it is only offensive but no crime is being committed then there is really nothing that you can do except not to patronize the site and to tell people that you know not to visit the site. Word of mouth goes a long way.

Contact your local law enforcement, they'll know the right people to contact. Make sure the site is actually harmful to people though and just not something you don't like.

WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED TO MAKE YOU WANT THIS SITE TO BE CLOSED DOWN.

FOR EACH CAUSE OF ACTION THERE IS A REMEDY. HARD TO SAY WHICH ROUTE TO CHOSE WHEN I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS ABOUT.

AS ALREADY STATED:
FBI--HAVE A UNIT FOR INTERNET CRIMES OR HARASSMENT OR INTERFERENCE FROM ANOTHER INTO YOUR DOMAIN. INTERNET FALLS UNDER FEDERAL LAWS OF COMMUNICATIONS AND THE FCC.

THE LOCAL INTERNET PROVIDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT TRANSPIRES UPON THEIR WEB PAGES.

IF IT IS A WEBSITE YOU HAVE PERSONALLY THEN THE PERSON CAN BE SUED AS A PRIVATE ENTITY UNDER THE FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS FOR VIOLATION JUST A COMMON AS LIABLE, SLANDER, DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER ETC.

Need more info. Why do you want to close this website? I'd consult a lawyer, if there is something truly illegal taking place.
