She's not too old. But are you going to be able to handle the expense (especially if something goes wrong) and put the time and effort into raising and socializing a litter of puppies? It is a lot of work, money, sleepless nights, tragedy if a puppy is stillborn or dies later on. Not to mention trying to find homes for all of them. Go to the Dog Breed Info website and read the article on breeding dogs and all the things that can go wrong. It should gross you out enough to make your dogs spay appointment at the Vet tomorrow.

Please don't breed her! There are too many puppies in the world now. Also, she's 5 years old,and that 's too old to start breeding a dog.if you want to have her around for a long time, then you should have her spayed right now. This will eliminate the possibility of pyometra,an often fatal infection of the uterus, quite common in unspayed females.Spaying her will also reduce the possibility of breast and uterine cancers. Not only that, but many dogs have complications during labor and have to have a c-section,or they can develop eclampsia (low blood calcium) when the pups are about 3 weeks old;this causes stiffness, seizures and death if not treated.Do the right thing and have your dog spayed.

fisrtly she's nearly past her breeding age. secondly a simple pic will not determine if she is built to have pups. Only a genetci test from a vet can tell that. With a dog of her age I would be prepared for a lot of health risks. If you really care about your dog and would like to see her live a long healthful life, than i suggest getting her spayed.

5 is far too old to consider a first litter! She is at bigger risk of complications.
A pitbull would be too big to breed her to! Bigger pups put an even higher risk, and she would require a cecarian, if she can even carry the pups!
At her age, she is at a high risk for certain types of cancers, and pyometra, which is a serious and deadly uterine infection.

I have been breeding small dogs for a long time, if your wee dog is heathy, good natured go ahead and have her mated. Although I don't think a Pit Bull would be your best choice. Goodluck to you whatever you decide, but I know that you would be delighted with a lovely litter of puppies

she is a very pretty dog, but you need to get her fixed the reason I am saying that is not to be mean but she is a mixed breed and you would only be producing more mixed breeds into this world, What is probably happing with your dog trying to mate with your other female is she is showing dominance and that is very commen for dogs to do that, and I wouldnt advise letting a dog of that age that has never had a litter get pregnant, she may not be able to handle it,
I hope this has helped, and please get her spayed

No I would not mate a 5 year old dog. She is probably showing dominance behavior not mating behavior.

G'day Itzmebitches,
Thank you for your question.
I don't see why not. It is within the age range.
I would speak to your vet and see what he thinks.
Regards
