I'm tired of it. Put up a humongous wall and keep them out. Will this ever end? Will our government ever do anything?

i think they will stop illegal immigration as U.S. citizens are against it and they are now organized enough to stop it and our politicians have finally figured it out. they will be trying to pass the dream act as a stand alone bill soon. i guess they are not hiding it with other bills maybe because they want to display just how little our citizens will support it. they are working on the fence (see the links). the guy who keeps going (see the link) freely between the U.S. and mexico with his drug resistant T.B. will help stop illegal immigration too. Read the articles i hope they will enlighten you as most of this is not making the news.

The problem is the government has plenty of laws on the books that are not enforced. Unfunded mandates have been the way that immigration laws have been "strengthened" but weakened. There is a law for a border fence, but the fence was only ever partially funded. There are laws for detention of illegals - but inadequate funding has a catch and release system in effect. There are laws for prosecuting businesses that hire illegal workers, but this is not done frequently, as business owners contribute more to political campaigns.

If the laws on the books were enforced, rather than essentially overturned in the budget - there wouldn't be as much debate. Because the system now appears to be arbitrary, and prone to political and financial manipulation.

The shame of it all is that it will never stop. The reasons are that our people in the State and Federal Government positions are immigrants themselves or are making big returns and don't know or want the answers.
There are other reasons being that these people are in a confront zone, they live in areas that everyone speaks their language, they find jobs that a large amount of the people working there speak their language, so just those two things make it hard to get them to move on to better lifes and learn the English language. Illegals start with our laws and our Government that allow this to happen.

Something will be done when no one profits from it. Right now, too many make too much money with illegal workers. They are breaking the law, but the government doesn't want to "bite the hand that feeds them", so to speak.

I think that eventually, Americans are going to get their voices heard, and things will begin to change. If the elected officials will not listen to those that elected them, then they will be ousted, and someone that will listen will get the job. If that has to continue for a time, eventually someone will get the idea, and will begin to listen to a majority of the voters that got them their job.

Whether the government steps up and attempts to stop it or not, it will never TOTALLY end. There will ALWAYS be those that try and I am sure no matter how hard we try, there will be a few who manage to succeed.

But I think we need to at least make a dang EFFORT here. It IS getting out of hand....

the respond isn't any on the two areas of the question. shall we get out of debt and shall we stop unlawful immigration however the processes that are mandatory to do the two would not set nicely with maximum folk of the people. right here's a good start up for the two -- close down all foreign places armed forces bases and positioned the troops on the border with orders to shoot anybody who violates the border. what number people could purchase into that? plenty could desire to make certain armed forces bases closed down, yet no longer the border administration state of affairs.

I think the only way to really stop it would be if the goverments and economies of those countries from where illegals are coming from were better and stronger.

Not as long as there is money to be made and votes to pander. That's why so many local and state governments have taken matters into their own hands, they're tired of waiting for the folks in Washington to act.

It will never stop because the American people have forgotten that they hold the power to determine what is best for their country. We elect representatives to do our will, but we never place demands on them after they are elected.
