My 5mo. old doxie was doing very good with house breaking, in fact she had gone about a month w/out an accident. But here recently she has begun urinating very frequently, roughly once every 30-45 minutes and having accidents w/out giving any indication that she needs out. Could there be a medical reason for this or is she just being obstinate?
Another thing I've noticed is she licks herself constantly and bites her stomach area until there are visible sores. This could be related or it might be a reaction to something in our grass.

Help?!

Update: Our yard hasn't been sprayed or fertilized. She has a shampoo specifically for puppies and she's on Interceptor for worms and such. She's not drinking anymore than usual and if she's in pain she's certainly not showing it. She's just as playful and into as much as she was before the urination problems started.

She needs to be checked by a vet.

Could be a reaction to fertilizer or even allergies. Ensure against fleas and the brand of shampoo. Baby shampoo for puppies works great! DO NOT use flea shampoo on puppies, as the vet is able to give you oral meds for that.
The urinating can really be controlled by you....hence, don't place water down to be available at all times. Place it down maybe 2-3 times a day, and she will learn to drink when its available instead of whenever she wants it. THe same holds true for food...only place it down once a day. She will learn to eat when available and if you do it at the same time everyday, you will know when she will need to relieve herself.

I would ask your vet, it could be something or it could be nothing, but I would rather be safe than sorry. My friend's dog had this problem and it was just dry skin, the accidents i'm not sure about it could be ritaliation. Or it could be something more serious like Mang

Yes, frequent urination out of no where could be a sign for numerous things. Please at least call your vet and ask about it. She really might need to be taken in.

have you treated your yard with a chemical in the last month? she could have a UTI and would need prescription meds....at the very least she sounds uncomfortable and deserves to be seen by her vet.

you need to get her to the vet to see if she has a urinary tract infection or something going on, cause that sounds like this might be medical issue, i hope this helps and good luck
