to our children (say ages 6 - 16) when viewing prime time advertising and television shows such as CSI, the Tudors, the Practice, etc... specifically regarding nudity, violence, hatred and sexual content?
And yes, I do know of parents who allow their very young children to watch shows such as these - as well as advertising.
here is the link for my last question:

((((zc)))) I love CSI too. I'm thankful that my kids are all well into their teens. We enjoy it (for the most part) together. Have to say now - though - we are getting more laughs at the lack of authentic police banter, however. teehee

a problem arises when one group attempts to set the standards on what we can watch or read.
If I don't want my (future) kids to watch such programs, I restrict their viewing times, or throw away the TV.
Besides, there are worse things on the web.

My husband and I have already decided we will not have a TV in our living spaces when we have children. I am sure there is an age when they will be allowed to watch TV, but I would rather they focus on actual playing, reading, enjoying life than watching the idiot box.
I have no problems with nudity or sex, but violence and hatred are things I don't believe my children need to be exposed to.

the 1st element of your question is right. Any faith could have good purely in its books. Morals and ethics took root interior the religious books. The religions make contributions a great section in coaching us on our good habit. however the crux lies interior the expositors of the books. those in value who examine the scriptures and interepret them. some do truthfully mutually as some take earnings and carry forth their own interpretations and lead human beings away on a tangent. There lies the threat. we could desire to learn each and every thing that those preachers carry forth and not take each and every thing at face value. Terrorism exists in the present day interior the form of jihad through fact of those fake teachings. The preachers take the customs and rituals of locals and intertwine them with their teachings, diluting the unique message. So all varieties of non-religious practices crop up. incredible faith promotes brotherhood, fellowship, camarderie and love previous the eyes. yet those self based instructors/preachers make it a by using media to benefit magnitude/wealth/potential. Its upto us to tell apart the actual from the faux.

Hey hey hey, CSI ain't so bad. Well, except for the gruesome gory corpses.
I never thought The Practice was all that offensive. I have NO clue what "The Tudors" is, though.
I don't need corporations or the government telling me what's "too immoral" to watch. If I need to filter for my kids, I'll filter. Besides, modern technology allows us to block anything rated above TV-G.

there were a lot of things that i wouldn't let my kids watch.
now i have a block on the t.v. so my grandson can't watch anything pg13 or higher. there is an awful lot of stuff at pg13 that i wouldn't want to watch!
i know someone who let their kids watch horror movies when they were little, and then she wondered why they had nightmares.
it is up to us as adults to protect our children from all harm, and that includes the programs that they watch.
bright blessings

If you value free speech, and you don't want your kids watching that, change the channel or turn it off.
