Just so you know a dog can have contractions from 1- 36 hours. before giving birth. 8-24 hours before giving birth a dogs temperature will drop a full degree and return to normal just before giving birth. Most dogs complain a lot during teh whole process. If you are worrying too much I suggest calling a vets office. The receptionist can help you with any question you have. If for what ever reason they on't just call another place.

Should be anytime. You should have done some more research I guess. What happens when you don't recognize she is in trouble and needs a vet?
If she doesn't progress in the next few hours you need to call a vet and at least talk to them. We can't tell if your dog is getting close or in shock with a puppy stuck.
She is probably OK.. but you are the one who is supposed to KNOW these things BEFORE you breed a dog. Her life is depending on you.

particularly obtainable. The temperature drop is amazingly substantial. Be waiting! And in case you notice quite contractions (it will be obtrusive) do not enable her to bypass on for greater advantageous than an hour with out seeing a domestic dog arrive. She might want a Caesarian section and this is greater useful to get her into the vet for this earlier she will become exhausted, and detrimental aspects dropping her doggies if one is caught (breach maybe).

I've seen dogs and other animals and women being in labor longer then that however I would have checked with vet prior to today and got his/her opinion. With the lab I had 100 degrees and birth was eminate. Good luck

Has she been nesting and panting? If not, she probably still has some time to go. It will likely happen later tonight or tomorrow morning. I would sit up with her just in case.

Nekkiddog is right. If it has been that long, something is likely wrong. Get her to an emergency vet or she and the pups could be at risk.

she needs to see a vet.. if she's been like this for 13 hours, she may have a puppy stuck in her birth canal!

What is this -- Whelping hour?? It seems that a bunch of people are on here right now asking about this same sort of thing....

Best advice I can give you -- call the vet, and your mentor.
