Don't squeeze it; the presssure can cause more problems. Use a good hot, damp rag to let it seep out buy itself [for periods of 10 mins]. Do this several times a day.
The heat, later, will help to heal it and make sure you use peroxide or alcohol to sterilize that area. If you remember, make sure the hot water from a shower also hits that area for more healing.
Try NOT to rub or scratch it! Make sure that you clean any earrings that you use and maybe some tea tree oil or like a Vick's could be used...to make it slip through and keep clean.
Lots of luck! [otherwise, see your Dr., of course.]

Well clean your ear with ALCOHOL. Keep an earring in it all the time so the hole won't close up. What kind of earrings are you wearing? I have an allergy to any metal that isn't either real gold or silver or stainless steel. Don't wear cheap earrings, invest in a good pair made with quality materials (studs) and keep these in all the time. Turn your earring in the hole once per day (rotate it around, turn it with your finger like the hands of a clock) this will help prevent it from getting stuck. Use alcohol daily and clean your ear at every opportunity. The infection will go away.
To the person who said "take a break from earrings for awhile", no, I wouldn't do this... if you take out your earring at this point the hole will close up. Leave your stud in but make sure it is a good quality earring.

Clean the lobe with alcohol 2 or 3 times a day, and soak your earrings in alcohol every day. The infection should clear up. This should have been explained to you when you got your ears pierced. When you get them pierced, you are supposed to put alcohol on the lobes 3-4 times a day for 6 weeks, until the holes heal. I would imagine that you didn't do that, did you?
Oh, don't "pop the lump". That will clear up on its own.

Pierced ears sometimes take a long time to heal. When I had mine pierced, I was furnished with a pair of starter earrings made with gold posts, and told to clean the ear lobes every night with peroxide. I was also advised to only wear gold posts or stainless steel or other hypo-allergenic posts for the first six months, as other materials such as nickel, will increase the possibility of infection or allergic reaction. Try using peroxide or alcohol to clean the area, and only wear non-allergenic posts until the infection heals. It's essential to keep the earrings in to keep the holes from healing closed. If it doesn't heal properly, you might have to see your doctor. You should never try to squeeze out pus, as this will only make matters worse by causing the spread of infection or eventually making the holes close due to scarring.

Ook... I have had a few of these, so here's how to fix it!
1) First clean all the puss and nasty stuff out of it with a clean Q-tip or cotton swab and RUBBING ALCOHOL.
2) Once thats dried, spray some bactine on the infection and let it sit for a few minutes. (Bactine is the disinfectant in the green bottle).
3) Dry it off with a cottin swab and DONT touch it... doing so will only make it worse.
Hope u feel better!

Id try cleaning it out with peroxide then use neosporin. As for popping the bump... i wouldnt. If it doesnt get better in a couple days id see a dr. you might need antibiotics. Also.. you might not be able to wear just anyearrings. I have problems with mine all the time to the point that i jsut dont wear any anymore. I get huge knots in my ears. Ive tried all the types of earrings and they all do the same thing.

yes it's ok to pop the puss out of it just one time,if you keep doing it will not go away. If the ear piece cause it,than you need to stop with it cause it will cause and infection and could lead to other things. Good luck

well its natural for your body to close the hole when you get an infection and you should go back to the place you got it pierced at and ask them for any advice. you don't want it to get anymore infected by touching it or popping it. you should probably use peroxide or the cleaning solution given to you to help you keep it clean and sanitary. also take some motrin to relieve any discomfort it may be giving you. hope that helps
